Fired for wearing a tie .....

Doug Emblidge of Rochester's TV 13 NEWS was giving a report on Brother Wease's show . He read a report that an employee of a Car Sales Dealership in Chigago was fired for weraing a Green Bay Packers tie at work because it was bad for business .

In light of that , I would warn any folks in Paterson , Rutherford , Jersey City and Hackensack , NJ not to be wearing a Pittsburg Steelers tie !!!

Supposively he was wearing the tie in honor of his late grandmother who was a huge Packers fan.  Dealership claims that they gave the employee five chances to remove the tie and he refused each time.

Can he bring a law suit against the dealership?

Yes, it is true.  First, the dealership does business with the Bears franchise, so it is not "just another" dealership.  Second, if Illinois law is like NY law, you can be terminated at any time for any reason AS LONG AS 1) the firing does not violate the companies own policies and 2) you are not on family leave or medical leave.

  I would think to get fired that way your would the company would have to have some sort of dress code in effect.  Something along the lines of no ties with writing sponsors ETC.

Yes the tie thing was messed up but it's not a public place it's a place of employment.

Tell you what's realy messed up; Aguilera singing the anthem, great - I'll need a shot of penicillan before the game, we have the black eyed peas at 1/2 time - over dubbed nagging crapp. I'll have to have some alt. entertainment cued up. And now I'm reading bestbuy will have a commercial with Ozzy & bieber. Straight up I can't stand that little snot weasle.

My team finally get's back to the S/B and the media is throwing this at me.

Fantail leave the sound off the TV untill kick off.And at half time is when you eat,as far as all the commercials they have been so bsd the last few years We don't even pay any mind.Enjoy the game brother.My Giants are gone but I love the SB..........
