The hound in the picture appears to be a bluetick....They are very popular here in the US for hunting  raccoon and fox...

What cartridges are favored in your hunting area..??.. I  understand that any military round is illegal in France, but that some US chamberings such as 300 Winchester mag are quite popular..

That is a big pig. When I was stationed in Siganella Sicily, I got to hunt in Germany, Italy and my birth land Greece. The only country that allowed rifles was Germany in Greece and Italy we were only allowed shotguns. We hunted wild boars with slugs in both countries and they were big.
