I would think a scent drag would leave a more evenly distributed 'scent"   Where as a "poured" on boots most of the scent would be dispersed at the beginning perhaps being over powering   Just my .02

Well if your a bowhunter you don't want a deer to be right under you or coming right at you. With a gun these are still good shots. Maybe im too picky with my shots with a bow, but I never wanted to have a buck sniffing right where I climbed and have a good chance of no being able to shoot it.

That's why when I get 15yds from my stand I make a loop or 2 then hang the drag somewhere.

Probably the best thing you can do. You always want to make sure you loop your scent trail that way the buck has to walk with in range.
