Buckmaster7600
Well one week is in the books what's everyone feeling a so far. I have hunted 6 out of 7 mornings and been on birds everyday. I think numbers are slightly up. I think they are behind on the breeding cycle compared to the last few years so maybe back to"normal"? I have saw a lot of big flocks that haven't broken up yet. All in all I think the next week or so should really be good as soon as the weather settles down.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
mowin
Not seeing too much difference in my area as far as breeding cycle compared to pervious yrs. Bumped a hen off of her nest Saturday after unknowingly setting up 10' from her for over a half hour. She was setting on 15 eggs. Definitely seeing more Jake's than the past couple yrs, so i do think the numbers are up.

Some Tom couldn't keep it in his pants like the rest of them. Brother watched a Tom breeding a hen just the other day. dbHunterNY
i guess to have a 'take' one would have to get out to hunt. been busy with work and stuff going on. haven't been able to make it out yet. always a crazy time of the year for me. wished i picked up a youth hunter. i had some time then. looks like i'll swinging for the fences late in the season when the green growth is tall, birds are quiet, and thinned out already from the lead flyin'. Five Seasons
Hunted Monday and Saturday. Monday was a typical turkey day hunt but with good action and got me juiced. Saturday may have been the worse turkey hunt I've had and the forecast coming up this weekend looks only a little better and has me bummed. I have only slotted 2 vacation days for the woods chicken this year, which leaves me with weekends only and I typically can only do one weekend day. I would say pre-season scouting has shown greater numbers, but mother nature isn't helping at all.
