Seriously? I guess you can say w/e you want as long as it's bias left.

There are many who are totally appalled by Coberts comment. From the news casts and ruling from the FCC, if you make comments like this after 10PM it's OK on public TV.

ABC canceled "Last Man Standing", while another network created a series about crack cocaine!

Really?

Funny how the "Cheshire Cat" of the site has nothing to say on this one.

The fcc is going to intervene in someone making jokes? Last man standing was filled with Obama jokes, but that was ok right? I'm fine with people insulting both sides. I find them funny most of the time.

So you consider what Colbert said as okay ? He said ," the only thing your mouth is good for is being Vladimir Putin’s c–k holster.”

I actually missed that joke, but it doesn't bother me at all. He could have said it about any president and I wouldn't care. I try not to let small things like that bother me. Now I can see where people would have thought he went to far with that one.

I am an advocate of free speech but some things should be sacred. I for one think the office of President (regardless who is there) is one of them. So called comedians should not be allowed to mock or make fun of presidents or candidates on national television and be allowed to trash anyone they want however they choose.

Although this would infringe on the "first amendment " rights it should be enforced since all we are doing is teaching our youth you can disrespect anything or anybody any way you want.

Making public fun of our leaders (good or bad) rates right up there with burning the American flag with me  :nono:and when I hear or see this crap I just hit the mute button or change channels.

Also makes me wonder about the leadership of these networks.

I also believe in freedom of speech which is why I don't mind it. I actually think it's important for youth to see people speaking out against someone they don't like. Now I also believe that we should have respect for the currents president no matter how much you may dislike him. I don't really like trump all that much, but I really don't go around trashing him because he is our president now and we have to look somewhat unified. Being able to voice an opinion about politics is another thing that makes the US great. Trump certainly was not shy about voicing his opinions about past presidents as well.

I don't care that it was directed at Trump. The language of what was said has no place on the public TV in my opinion. Another example of the moral slide in this country.

Two people or a group voicing their opinion is one thing but standing up on national television making it obvious that your only purpose is to make someone look bad is not going to make me watch your station.

I was not a fan of Trump bashing either but appreciated it when he used facts against his opponents.

Now if you guys are mainly concerned about the language he used and if it was appropriate enough for tv, then I can agree with you. It was not the most appropriate thing to say, but I do believe language like that is allowed at that hour. At that hour I personally don't mind that kind of language since we're all adults and can decided whether or not we will use that kind of language and whether or not we will watch it.

That's my issue. I have no problems with freedom of speech, but that Amendment went south years ago. The only freedom of speech these days seems be, "You can anything you want as long as you agree with me and my side!". These people attack Trump for what he says, then Colbert says something like this? I don't care what media outlet you watch, but all this "I can say w/e I want but you cant!" is starting to go to far.
