MrGroundhog
I was bored and wanted to try a DIY camo job on one of my rifles. So I watched a few YouTube videos and grabbed some rustoleum spray cans and went to work. I thought it came out good, and I am happy with the results. We’ll see how well it holds up. Have any of you guys tried doing a camo job yourself? Post up some pics if you have.

fasteddie
Looks real nice . Great job . In the top picture , it looks like you left the rifle out in the snow .
Robhuntandfish
I did a rowboat in a camo pattern with some leftover paint. I painted it then sprayed over with a camo stencil. I am not a car painter but this boat just needed something and it came out alright. Also did a camo wrap on an old beat up Mossberg
MrGroundhog
Thanks guys. Haha, I never was a fan of spraying them either. The first spray was tough, but after that you just let it go. That camo wrap looks legit. Is that like a tape that you apply?
Robhuntandfish
It was a kit for shotguns. Yeah it was like a tape. Wasn't too hard to do but I did have a couple spots with a ripple. Used a hair dryer to seal it. Your rifle came out great . Did you use a stencil or just use some leaves etc. ?
Moho81
Better than I could have done and better than I expected it to look (no offense). I'm interested in hearing the update on how durable it is.

First I just taped off everything really well.... that honestly took the longest. Earplug in the end of the barrel. Cleaned everything with alcohol to cut off any grease etc. I put down two coats of tan. Then I just grabbed some grasses and pine branches, put it on the rifle and sprayed the green and brown. The branches that were more open left a nice outline on the rifle. I wanted to keep it lighter so I didn’t use too much brown. I could have used a matte clear coat for protection, but I have heard that even the matte leaves a sheen. I also don’t care if it gets worn because I prefer that look.
Buckmaster7600
870 I did this spring. Came out pretty good but got beat up turkey hunting. Buckmaster7600
Did it get beat up after one season? What type of paint did you use? Krylon camo paint. I'm very rough on turkey guns so I'm not that disappointed in the finish, my factory camo mossberg is more black than camo after only a few seasons.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
