Heading north

While watching the sunrise I saw and heard several.flocks of snow geese flying north.. think they are in for some nasty weather next few days.. seemed a bit early.to me 

.Though I did have a pair of Canadian geese land on the pond as well.. my cat scared em.off.. amazing she thinks she is a leopard or some big cat..seen her chase geese, deer amd.a bear the last 2 years.. one day I don't think she'll make it home though...

I mentioned on the spring thread this morning I saw a huge flock of snows  fly over   Awesome sound noted and looked up and saw them in a perfect V formation

We already have them pairing up in my yard at work.Normally they show up with the killdeer around St.Patrick's day.

been seeing a ton of them in fields and last night all i could here on the lake was geese and all night long - it was actually nice to hear.  Woke up at 1:30 and they were really honkin!

this week has been something and maybe nature knows more than the weather folks. ( I would say weathermen but don't want to offend anyone lol)

had our resident robin return and she started building her nest in her reserved spot.

monday I saw and heard several red wing black birds, they are here 2 weeks early.

a lot of songbirds showed up in the last week, they were noticeably absent around here this winter.

the bay has a lot of open water and the ice has speared so it should be an early ice out this year.

saw a flock of wood ducks last friday.

I go by the redwing blackbirds.  Some of our robins and bluebirds show up in early February now.  My phone has started ringing for brush removal, chipping, and pruning.  I'm hoping the ground freezes up around here so I can do some of my work without playing in the MUD.
