This Weather & Spring Turkey Season

February was one of the craziest months we have had weather wise in a very long time. Now, March looks like it wants to make up for that in spades. Two major snow storms barely a week apart.

Will this crazy weather affect the turkey population and hunting?

I don’t think so. Come late March and early April birds will be getting it on. Don’t see it any different   Come May 1st they’ll be tight lipped as usual   Just need some sweet talk on the right day

One year I remember a lot of late snow on the ground in April and the Turks were out in the snowy fields just a struttin... Can't stop nature!

This winter hasnt been particularly bad really. Heres snowfall totals for various cities in NY since 1940. Totals for this year are up till today. Bottom numbers are averages, not including this year. We are slightly above average. Turkeys will be fine.

Agree here. Got a couple bad storms inside a week, and possible third on the way. But due to to the higher then normal temps the ground has not re-frozen, so the snow is meting fast.

its the 10 or more straight days of rain during the season that we've been experiencing in recent years that hurts things more than the winter snows..
