  1. It will be fun to chase spring gobblers on the Island with some good spots less than an hour from my house. I'm curious as to how DEC is going to manage it so it doesnt end up a giant S@%&T show
  2. I began using the On X app this season also....so far I like it alot
  3. finally upgraded my old vest and sprung for the Alps Outdoor Z Grand Slam vest. I'm not using it with the kickstand feature but really like all the pockets in all the right places and the cushion is super thick. Its a little on the heavy side and so far only used in Florida so I wont have a complete review till after the season is over. 8. Yes..crossbow season falls right on the best days to be in the woods for rutting bucks..A resident muzzleloader tag is only $15.00 are you out of state?

  11. I sent a message...If they chose to go out with me my first question would be if they patterned that gun!..an old gun like that wouldn't have choke tubes but it could be choked full from the factory. If its not patterning well I have guns they could borrow that are proven turkey killers. I can also help out with a hunter safety course, license and turkey stamps.
  12. Had bucks chasing each other in Tioga County this week..nice bucks..lots of new sign

  14. Weird that many hunters will pay big $$$$ to hunt a state that does allow baiting / feeding whatever...Or is just a coincidence?
  15. Wooden dowel = BEST way to blow up your crossbow...
  16. Don't use your preference points for your landowner tag or on your second choice DMP and you won't lose them http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/6403.html

  18. It has to do with NICS...delays are common...has nothing to do with where u buy it..sometimes the NICS system is just bogged down with searches..
  19. Being that I'm no biologist myself the first thought that came to mind is how old does a hen have to be to be sexually mature enough to produce young?.Could it be their just hanging as a group but not actually capable of nesting yet?. Also with the amount of heavy rain this spring is it possible many nests were lost? Or is that old gobbler just enjoying all those gals hanging around and working his way through the harem as he sees fit?...
  20. I was lucky and tagged out 3rd week..trying to get either the wife or someone to take and try calling up another bird..just like messin with them birds!

  24. I made 3 trips upstate from LI this turkey season and I was going to post the same thing!.. Lost count of how many dead does I saw on 17 and rt 80..Even saw 2 dead coyotes coming back last week...guess they were looking for abandoned fawns and became a casualty themselves. I couldnt help but think every dead deer equaled a fawn somewhere waiting for momma to return... Was an aweful waste of venison...The tree huggers have no clue!
