cuts through you like a knife...these older bones will be able to sit comfy and take in the view ;) ...Really I just can't handle the driving rains and the blowing snow like I use to....but I know there are turkeys...deer... yotes and what  not out in it so I will be too...just warm and dry thank You...lol

I forgot how heavy PT wood is and dang if all muscles don't scream today....manged it by building in sections and attaching braces so I could lift the sections and they'd stand on their own as I positiond them...pheww hard work done....will finish decking in a few days then build the shooting house...over all10x6x8ft high.....The shooting house will be 6x6x6' 2"high with a 6x4 open deck for nice calm days...

all told 30+ at home and camp....this will look similar to the one in pic but bigger...the next two I build will be 6x6 and 12 ft high ...no deck...some ppl build bird houses....others buy "collectables"...me I just like planting and building things....in the pic I built this red chicken coop down in the woods...Mr B likes to have a rooster with the hens...I don't care for crowing at 3 a.m.( his last rooster :;) ) so this was my solution.....I'm building a bigger out door run ...actually working on it today...but the little unwired section...acts as a blind and supply area....deer really don't mind the rooster crowing ;) and I'm amazed how the chicken sounds attract turkey and I get lots of eggs to boot ;D

no ...with the way I put in the final bracing there is no need...they are solid as a rock and absolutely no movement...I'm actually afraid of heights so I'm very careful on how I build things...by village law they also can't be permenantly(sp) attached to the ground.....the chicken coop I built a few years back...On a block and stone foundation with no morter...has never moved an inch...with all our winds and heaving frost ;)

Nice work, Growalot. I built a lean-to frame with my brother on his land but we only enclosed with tarps. I plan on building a wood one on my land this summer. I like them big enough to move around in, stretch legs, take off or put on jacket, room for a heater maybe a stove to boil water  for coffee etc. Basicaly a condo with shooting ports. Now, elevating it like your camo one might be good also.

Hunter...that green one up in the woods I built last spring....I made out of a packing crate ...card board and plastic tarps....and shes still bone dry and comfy...but like you I need to stretch a bit and the office chair in it gives my just enough room to swing around with out hitting the walls...so I know what you mean ;)

I would knod right out in that nice office chair,my snoring would scare any deer around right into the next county.End of the hunt.LOL

Oh ya...may have missed a deer or two and a turkey or two...when my snoring woke me up :P ....but better that then waking to the end of my safey harness catching me or scraping my face off the side of the tree I'm sitting in ;) ...been there done that....Now...I'll be able to shower and hit it at bedtime...wake up and start hunting...so much more time to sleep in ;D

I knew a couple of oldtimers who told me they know they're gonna fall asleep and the deer wake them up when they get there. I shot one buck when I woke up from a nap in a hay bale blind with walls blocking the wind on all side with a bench with backrest and a half wall that served as a shooting bench and a place to lay my rifle on. I t was bitter cold and the first day I could not sit still but the second day I brought a heavy space blanket and dozed off to find my dream come true a buck. lol
