sodfather
Finally got my dog out for his first hunt. He has been training very hard all summer and today was for him to put that to the test . Conditions were lousy and only managed to get 2 groups of birds to work the spread, not much for flights. Cooper held very steady in his blind for a 18 month old. Around 8:30 had a hen and drake wood duck cup perfectly and a 1 shot at the back drake send him down. Cooper waited to be released and then launched out of his blind like a track star. He didn’t take the straightest of line To get to him but I won’t beat him up for his first. Anyway I was able to get pics and a video of his first retrieve and taking the Woodie to the taxidermist as I have my other dogs first bird done when she was alive . Lawdwaz
It was a "ducky" kind of day! Glad something came to bag, especially since it was Copper's first day. NOTHING like your first anything............
