Laptop or tablet suggestions

How’s everyone doing? Hope all is well...

As most of you are aware, I have been venturing into the Instagram world for a positive, and constructive use.  I would like to venture into Youtube, and create/edit self filmed video’s to post.  

I do not have a laptop, or tablet.  I simply use my action camera, and Iphone 8+.  

Can any of you recommend a laptop, or features to get in a laptop? 

I do not know if tablets are capable of importing video content, and video editing software....

pretty much clueless.

any advice would be very much appreciated.

$500 +/- would be a comfortable budget.  I believe you get what you pay for, so don’t hesitate if your suggestions are higher priced, I will consider it.

Get a laptop.

I have a tablet for checking my trail cameras and watching videos while I ride the bike ,I would recommend a laptop for what you are trying to do  ,just for the keyboard alone ,not to mention the laptop will be way faster .

the Surface Pro has a keyboard and I use a wireless mouse. Ive also got the docking station so I hook up two monitors. Once you get into video editing youll want a big monitor. Theyre pretty cheap nowadays I got a 29" LG for $150

What TCIII said. I have had a Surface Pro for work for about 6 months now. Can use as a laptop or a tablet. Love it.

MacBook Pro hands down. I have one and an iMac, I can't imagine working on a windows based computer.
