grampy
I "think" you gain some serious horse power by having a fancy NASCAR exhaust like that!! Redneck engineering at it's finest, indeed!!!
Nytracker
Kind of reminds me of my 2000 dodge ram . Traded it away do to rust. Had holes in the frame. Could change the oil filter through the roached out front fender. 16 years old 200k miles . Engine and transmission still strong.

Same issue but although the frame didn't have holes yet, my mechanic said that was going to be in the very near future. He advised me to get rid of it while I could. Just like yours, the engine was strong, although the transmission pooped the bed a couple of thousand miles out of warranty. That turned out to be a bad omen of things to come. That truck nickeled and dimed me to death after the warranty expired. I remember going to get gas on the way to the dealer to trade it in, and the filler pipe fell off as I was fueling - gas all over the ground at the pump. Like the pic above, I used a bungee to keep the filler tube higher than the tank to keep it from sloshing gas as I drove. Took it to the dealer and drove a new to me/used truck home.
