Don't Let Strange Dogs In Your House

Our Beagle was two years old when we got him, he didn’t like small areas, wouldn’t go through a partly open door, or under the table to get a biscuit .

We tried crate training him , he broke out twice, broke the welds on the little bars and pushed them out to 90 degrees .

I don't want anyone to take this question the wrong direction. Why would your pup be crated ?
Our two dogs, both broods for Guiding Eyes, were crate trained starting at birth. I believe they start that so that they get comfortable with transport and to assist in the housebreaking. We are under pretty strict guidance from guiding eyes to keep them crate trained as long as we foster them. I know that there are a lot of opinions out there, I think PETA has a program to ban it, but I can say our two dogs love their crate. They are content and happy to sit in their crate with the door left wide open. It's their spot and no one else's.

Its really not a jail for my dog at least.  Its more like her bedroom.  That said, the only time she uses it is when sleeping at night.

My 12 year old dog still gets crated when we leave . Last time walked in the house and she is sitting on kitchen table .all the bread was gone bag half eaten . Breakfast bars chewed up  . bananas chewed up .it was nuts . She can barely jump up on couch . Don't know how she got on table but was afraid to get down .
