Wondering if any one ice fishes in swamps or marshes? Have some close by and I was going to try out to take my kids. Did know if it was looking into or waste of time and just take them to a lake.

I agree...however frozen over swamps allow for some awesome shed/dead head hunting...I wonder where I will be tomorrow?!?

Be careful if you go to the wrong spot you may never come back. Sometimes people get stuck in swamps...swamp thing gets em!

Our local swamps and marshes, are not really deep enough to hold a good fish population. And that would never be my first choice to fish.

Due to warmer than normal temps this winter. And a lot of freeze\thaw, I've decided to not ice fish this year. Wherever you decide to go, especially with kids, make sure you have safe ice.
