Daveboone
I have been a long time fan of the Deerslayer, and own two Model 37s. I hope the new Ithaca co. does well, but I have a tough time seeing where slug guns as such fit into things today. Here in NY almost all counties are switching to rifles, and most any centerfire deer rifle will have much less recoil and much better accuracy than a rifled slug gun can. WNYBuckHunter
Nice gun, but at $1200 plus the price that sabots cost, Ill stick with my handgun or a rifle, which will shoot better at those ranges and cost alot less to shoot.
Doc
I kind of wonder if that 200 yard claim isn't when machine shot. Frankly, I wouldn't expect that just any hunter could make it perform that well. Even though that's what they are trying to imply. What the gun is capable of and what the average guy can make it do probably are two entirely different things. WNYBuckHunter
Theres a video on the site showing them shooting it off of a Lead Sled at targets at 200 yards. they also show the groups.
Fantail
Nice slug gun. Very nice indeed. Most of the time I'm shotgun hunting I'm nowhere near an open feild.
Mr VJP
The guy was very generous in the way he measured the group sizes. If you hunt with a lead sled on a windless day, I'd say you could hit a deer at 200 yards with it. I couldn't help but notice they fired 9 shots at a target with no back stop too. I sure hope they knew what was beyond that target. ???
whitetail1
if you could hit a dee at 200 hundred yards with a rifle you could do the same with this gun

Culvercreek hunt club
I wonder if they fixed the problem the old deer slayer use to have....the ones I have been around anyway. Use to be it you held the trigger and cycled the gun it would fire on the bolt closing. Never had that ever happen with a Remington, Mossgerg or Browning
Gthphtm
I had one like that,if you held the trigger in the right spot you could fire it very fast,One time a friend was near by and thought I had a semi auto shotgun.I had the slug bbl.and the improved cyl. bbl.Got pleanty of rabbits with it. The new one sure is pretty.
