How many bucks can you take

Im wondering how many bucks you can take in NY legaly

I was looking at my tags and all of them say they can be used on an antlered deer does this mean if you have an archery regular and MZ tag that you can shoot 3 bucks?

2 in most of NY if you have your bow/ML either sex tag. I think its in Westchester where you can turn in a doe head or two and get an either sex tag in return. So down there, I think its 3. Id have to look it up to be sure about the Westchester thing though.

One buck with regular season

one buck with the either sex tag for bow OR ML

if you get both bow AND ML tags (or supersportsman) the second tag you get is antlerless only. (no buck)

But...technically you can fill every tag you have and never shoot a buck since the regular season tag is valid in the late bow/ML and can be used for either sex....in appropriate areas.

WNY is right though---there are special regional regulations

Long island 4 bucks

1 with bow tag

1 with gun tag

Get two 1C dmps and shoot two does and get two either sex tags for LI. I used my 1c dmp the first day so i now have an either sex tag for LI and a bow tag for upstate also.

Several units have the special tags whre you can earn an either sex tag, including 8c.

For most..2...for some 3. I wonder if you could in theory go up to 4 if you hunt westchester and another special wmu such as 8c.?

In terms of season year, not license year, a lucky few in the NZ could take one on last years license if it wasn't filled.

LOL me too but I was just curious considering this is my second year hunting here in NY and last year I didnt much have to worry about killing anything >.>
