The hospital has moved my son to infectious disease unit for covid 19

As some of you know my youngest is a RN at university of Rochester , he was in the cancer center but with his prior experience in the E.D and ICU before moving to U of R he’s being utilized to  assist those that are full time at the infectious disease ward . He is now heading in for his second night caring for 4 covid patients all on ventilators  He’s a smart kid and is a very very good RN, proud as a dad could be . But  I can not tell a lie that I worry about him in direct contact now. He ran down the process that they have to do to remove their Ppe’s and it sounds like they have a very good routine to keep them safe , except they are reusing masks and sterilizing them. I know I am not the only one with family in the medical field on here , so to the others stay safe out there.

You’ve got to be very proud, but I absolutely understand why you’d be worried right now.

Please tell him to follow protocol to the t. It’s not an easy thing he is doing. You are proud of him and rightfully so. Please remind him it only takes one mistake to get this and that mistake doesn’t even have to be his. I will be praying for his safety.

Best of wishes back to you and your wife. They are doing their job I know, and they are being as safe as can be. I sincerely wish the best for your wife to stay safe.
