screamon demon
May want to think twice before killing a cougar. "The penalties for these violations can be a maximum fine of up to $50,000 or imprisonment for one year, or both, and civil penalties of up to $25,000 per violation, may be assessed." Source: http://en.wikipedia....red_Species_Act It's funny that shooting a mythical creature could cost you $50,000 and jail time. But Shooting a high powered rifle, across a road, at night, near a house gets you a misdemeanor.
scobar
If I had the oppertunity to take a picture that would be cool, would not even consider pulling the trigger. I would not need the cat to prove that I saw it. If there's one maybe there's 2 and it continues to one day they are truly here, then with hunting dates, kidda like the black bear. snor
I saw one about 14 years ago between Narrowsburg and Beaver Brook. Also a guy in our club saw one on opening day back 8 or 9 years in Narrowsburg. Just proof that they are in Sullivan County.

There are a few towns out west who have laws on the books against killing bigfoot so it doesn't surprise me one bit.

KEVA
http://www.dec.ny.gov/animals/7494.html They are listed as endangered. If they were naturally coming back it would be a true shame to shoot one.

DTG3k
There are a few towns out west who have laws on the books against killing bigfoot so it doesn't surprise me one bit. THAT is Hilarious. I bet the sale of the body can easily cover any fines though. So i will blast away.
Doc
I would absolutely love to see actual proof of a ML in NY that can be verified. Not me!!! I would just as soon these mountain lion reports stay in the category of "BS". I don't want them added to my already over-active imagination as I walk in the dark to or from my stand ..... lol. I do not in any way want MLs to become part of the NY fauna in my lifetime.
