Doc, people are set in their ways and will not change. You or anyone else will not change their minds no matter what you say or the statistics prove. Just human nature like my father use to tell me" you have a one track mind". He was right.

Yeah I understand that, but I just can't let those kinds of comments go unchallenged. I have noticed that we have quite a few brand new hunters as members as well as a substantial number of youngsters who read these things. For that reason, you can always expect me to comment on these kinds of posts. It's not for the ones that post these comments, but more for those that might read them and be swayed by them if left unrebutted.

Doc, I hear you and agree 100% . Great to educate the young hunters the right way. Your posts are always beneficial to all who read them.

well of course turn the thread into a platform for B/O again. But why not almost every other post ends up that way. The simple truth is when you shoot after dark which this was, it does not matter what you are wearing. Oh and BTW they were both wearing BO. If they obeyed the laws, they would both be alive today. And also just as an FYI not everyone who chooses not to wear bo wears camo either.

I think I adequately explained why I made the blaze orange comments that I did.

you need a new topic bo is getting old all the time. Plus if you looked at my posts I said they both were wearing it. Did not seem to help this time as stated. The point is hunting after dark is not only illegal, it is unsafe. If I posted about trying to take a crap, you would try to make it about bo. Let it go. We all know you love it.

Yeah Bub ...... it always seems to get a rise out of you, old or not .... lol. And by the way, I don't think anybody has ever said that B/O is a cure-all. Have you been imagining that someone said that it was effective in the dark? Sure enough by golly, you're right .... it doesn't work worth a damn in the dark. By the way, if you had been paying attention at all, you would have noticed that I did not bring up the subject of B/O but was merely responding to another reply that did (as you can always count on me doing everytime people be-little the documented effectiveness of it). The fact is that you have devoted quite a few replies toward keeping the B/O segment of this thread going, haven't you?

Hey Doc,

I'm kinda new here, and I agree with what you said about expressing your oppinion. I'm too new here to say that I agree with the things being said, but definately if you feel a subject needs to be challenged, say something. We shouldn't just let wrong be wrong.

Then of course there are a lot of things are are neither right or wrong, which then becomes politics, like BO.

Thanks for taking your time to comment and educate.

Hey Shawn, don't mind them, they are just two old farts that like to disagree just for the kicks of it (no disrespect to Bubba and Doc, we love you guys).....I'm just saying take it with the grain of salt (actually a barrel of it is more like it :-)

You have something to say? Say it...that's how we roll around here...:-)

Actually, unlike politics, hunting safety does have a documented "right or wrong" side to it as shown at: http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/00044112.htm

And so when someone advocates things that are contrary to safe hunting practices, I do feel that it is important to not allow those things to stand unchallenged. Of course there are some that may not care for that kind of thing, but then that's not my concern.

man you can spin a thread. I never once advocated for not wearing bo. I said I do not see the necessity for mandates. But it is easy to see your motives. You grab the tail and spin until someone speaks up then play innocent and point out how they attack you. You love to stir crap then sit back and watch it go. All I am saying is you do a great job or derailing most threads with your rant like this one. But hey if such simple things make your day, I truly feel sorry for you and your lack of a fulfilling life. The easiest way to get you to go away is for the person to make it look like you have gotten under their skin and then you move on to the next victim. And since you have dreailed it and BO is the RIGHT way to hunt can you please explain again in your infinite wisdom why it is not mandatory and why the DEC is against it being mandatory? I just love your little stories.

It's funny how this thread starts. Bubba in your first post you make it clear BO will be a topic here. The thread goes 18 replies before BO is talked about. On post 16 you drag up my name from another thread where I just say "I wonder if they were wearing blaze orange." The article from NYON did not give the time of the shooting. So if anyone is at fault here for starting the BO debate, it's you you and you.

Really Bubba? .... Do you really feel like a victim now? ..... lol. By the way, thanks for the free psycho-analysis. It was amusing.

Look, if you would just calm down a bit and try reading some actual numbers on the subject (I even supplied you the link), you might just begin to understand where I am coming from. It might just save you a lot of ranting and raving and a fair degree of embarrassment from that goofy sounding reply above.

Sorry Bubba, but I think we have to suspend this conversation. It seems that everyone is getting tired of seeing it here. It's funny how they keep coming in here to watch though.....lol. It's kind of like the preacher who spent days looking at pornography so he could lecture against it the following Sunday.....ha-ha.
