ApexerER
I have a 2000 Baja Hammer and the interior was getting a little rough. Split seam on rear bench, couldn't get the sundeck perfectly clean, captains chair had a split in it. I removed all the interior and brought it out to an Amish guy in Fultonville last week and picked it up this morning. I was super thrilled with the price i was charged but i feel like all the new vinyl is installed too loosely and its wrinkly. I said something about it and he said it will tighten up when it shrinks and all the wrinkles will come out and that i won't have to worry about seems splitting when it does. This sort of makes sense to me but new boats don't come with loosely installed interior.....Maybe i'm just being too anal with a 20 year old boat. I'll post some pics when i get home and get it installed.....Hopefully it all looks good in the boat and i won't notice as much when i'm not look at individual pieces....

Splitear
You could try using a hair dryer to see if the heat is going to draw it in. It’s possible, I don’t know anything about upholstery.
wolc123
The wrinkles give it some character and make it look a little more comfortable. Maybe that's not the look you wanted. I remember an incident, many years ago, on the upper Niagara river. A buddy of mine had just bought a fancy new speedboat with a spotless, plush white interior similar to that. He still gives me crap about the rancid, big floating sheepshead, that somehow found it's way into his boat from the direction of mine. I was watching where I was going, and not my crew. They had gotten into the beers and apparently scooped up and tossed the bloated dead fish. I guess the cleanup took considerable effort, and his boat never smelled quite right after. Haha, I might not be too nice either if someone threw a half rotted sheepshead in my brand new boat. In fact, my revenge plotting would most likely be diabolical.

If the 90 degree sun doesn't do it i'm going to try that....
LET EM GROW
I would try a low heat hair dryer and rub it gently.. But it also makes sense that it will shrink in sunlight. To me it seems like he may have been off slightly when he cut his contours and shapes for the vinyl. since you need to cut for the curve and the shape. Where as the factory has all that programmed to cut perfectly each time. Still looks goodm especially if the price was good. Enjoy it, like you said its new interior on a 20 yr old boat. Make a wake! ApexerER
Well, everyone told me how nice it looked out on the lake yesterday....For whatever reason i did feel like it looked better at the end of the day. Maybe it did shrink some. On the other hand, i doubt anyone would say.....who the heck did that, it looks terrible....lol
