My Attempt at Pyrography . . .

I started making my own Turkey Box calls and I wanted to put a design on them. So I ended up picking up a woodburning kit at AC Moore yesterday and tried it out last night on some scrap pieces of wood.

This one is my first attempt:

And this one is my second attempt (free hand):

Pyrography is like shooting your bow. You get better and better with practice.

If I can just get my hands on precut 3" x 24"x 1/8" and 1/4" cedar stock I'd be more than happy to build one for you and I'll deliver it when I get my HuntingNY bumper sticker. LOL!

I got the basswood at ACMoore and the poplar at Home Depot. I don't know where to get precut cedar.
