Moose push out deer?

He's guys, my buddies camp lease was logged a few years ago. And now he has at least 5 bull moose and cows walking all over the land. We seem to have less deer on the cameras, but plenty of moose. Just wondering if they will push the deer off the land or the deer have just moved away from the where the moose are most active. He did take a doe this Sunday, and we have 4 pictures of bucks on the cameras.

How has the wolf/coyote population changed?

Good question, I'll have to ask him. I believe it's in 5J, so no wolves.

I don't think it's 5j but there is enough swampy wet land to support them.The lack of deer might be from the EHD that's going around the state or the browse changed from the logging.

The short answer is yes.  The deer don't like to be around them.  They eat alot of the same things, especially in the case of a clear cut, new logging.  There can be some overlap, but they don't winter together.

In the unit I hunt in Colorado the moose are pushing the elk out of the area. Bullwinkle is a bully!

Yup, 5J. He is near Edinburgh, remote wilderness.
