tug once had 10 fingers..... now I only have 9.5. got finger caught under a piece of steel and sheared it clean off..... couldnt save it cause it was crushed. Id post a pic, but its kinda graphic...... outta work for aa bit. Begged to go back, but its the fear of bone infection i guess.

Oh man that is nasty, Hope you feel better soon. The fingers are the worst thing in the world to hurt due to all the nerve endings. I smashed my thumb in a machine at work last yr. It actually broke the thumbnail off just under the cuticle and had come out and was on top of the cuticle. So at the ER, they got a pair of pliers, and after a whole bunch of worthless shots around the thumb that did absolutelly nothing to dull the pain, they went to work bending the nail back under the cuticle. I tell you what it hurt more than anything I have ever experianced and came very close to blacking out twice. I cant imagine how bad your finger hurts, hope they got you on some good drugs. Sorry to hear....Been there.. ...but mine is the pinky and a dog bit it off.......it will take a while but in a year you'll barely notice it....I'm sure they have you scheduled for physical therapy.......this really messes up the tendons in your hand so DO AS they SAY and all the exercises ....with my hand in the bulky wrap My surgeon...Dr Mitten by the way..lol....who is a bow hunter...had me out hunting opening day...took a nice 8 point on Oct 18th that year.....So you may not miss turkey season ;) ...Good luck

actually...no ..I didn't know it happened until my son started yelling he'd take care of it and running around...I looked down and said "..damn my fingers gone"..only half.........wrapped it in paper towels and had son drive me to the hospital....on the way there I glanced over and saw it...he had found the finger and put it on ice in a jelly jar..there it was nestled between his legs as he drove.....I started saying "I'm sorry I'm sorry" as I rocked back and forth holding my hand up...He yells at me "Mom what are you sorry for?"..true story and mind you his driving was scaring the hell out of me...he was a tad upset...I answered..."For giving you the finger..now slow down before you kill us on the way!"..That broke the tension a bit...lol

lol. I found mine too, but left it in my tool box. it was destroyed. it was actually pulled off, not cut. it hurt so bad. I actually thing it hurts more than my knee blowing out a few years ago. Then when they cleaned it.... oh my gosh. no shot or nothing. It was torture.

I feel for ya...had the big toe on my left foot crushed last winter by the dropping of an oak desk on it...don't ask how. But the glob of fat in my toe was sticking out and the nail blew off from the impact. Not pretty and hopped around the house for a while yelling bad things. Hope all go's well for ya and listen to the Doc.

Hope you feel better soon. I know how it hurts. Got one of mine caught in a machine, years ago, when I was a sheet metal worker. Crushed the tip flatter than a pancake but it did'nt come off so Im sure yours hurt alot more. (mine is still deformed)

I'm lucky she caught me with a molar and it was a very clean cut as it were...but being awake during the surgery and hearing them snipping the bone and pulling tendons and such was a trip :wacko: ...but I was on some awesome meds...I'd sat in the ER for 50 mins and yelled as a DR walked by the room...he came in and I said..."Ummm... been here 50mins...half of finger missing here...open to the air and..well not to complain but...... adrenalin has worn off...."..Ya there is a distinct thumping that goes with each shot of pain...Then I had plenty of help and a very nice shot before they packed me back up in sons truck to drive another hour+ to get to hand surgeon in Rochester...I was in one liner mode...and very happy...cracking jokes all through surgery ;):P
