I only ever found one bedded fawn in my life . It was at my son's property in Italy Valley .
-
I've never seen them in the grass, like this before Always find them in areas of brush and along hedge rows. They also bed in heavy clover in my hay fields.

Just checked the spot they moved on.

There is a game on youtube with Phil playing against a very good Alabama team, although LT lost mostly because they were outmanned, Phil had a decent game and looked pretty darn good to me. Al

All these years in the woods I never came across a bedded Fawn. Took the dogs for a walk and they were ahead of me. Tall grass they were very interested in something. It was a fawn. It would not budge from its position. Even with the dogs over it. I got them out of there pretty quick. Glad I wasn't mowing. Pretty happy they didn't go after it.

I was released from the Marine Corps in September of 1963 . Four years was enough for me . I sometimes wonder if any or who re-inlisted and may have lost their life in Nam . Always remember our fallen heroes !

He’s up there with Jesus now. Of that there is no doubt. I love the way that he unashamedly shared his faith with others, while he was down here with us. Definitely among the better TV personalities, hunters, businessmen, husbands, fathers, and collegiate quarterbacks.

Over the past two years before this year, I planted a total of 50 fruit trees. Mostly apple trees of several varieties, along with a few plum, peach, pear, and nectarine. The bees were with my trees pollination in mind. The orchard is really coming together even though it's young. Other than the initial planting, fencing to protect from animals, and then watering, and pruning when dormant, the trees are pretty low maintenance. Especially when compared to my bees! People don’t ever think about the role bees play in our agriculture, and the impact on it without them. This winter was the greatest loss of bees on record, and there is a great effort going to try and identify the reason(s). I have heard upwards of 70 percent bee loss for commercial beekeepers. It was my first time over wintering bees and I put a ton of thought and effort into it. Perhaps I was a bit lucky. : ) But, like hunting, I think when you put in the time and effort, you often make your own luck. All four of my hives came through very strong, and as a result I’m scrambling to keep them fed, and from swarming at the first good day of sunshine. To top it off, they are really agitated and aggressive because of the weather. Today, when I opened just one hive, they attacked me and managed to get in my veil. I got several stings on my neck, face, and then on my hands when I pulled my gloves off to try and crush them with my fingers to stop the stinging. I ended up quick abandoning ship, put things back together and raced to the house on my wheeler. Hopefully the weather will change soon, and things can calm down around here. I just hope it’s soon enough to get my trees pollinated.

I wish I would have grafted some of the old time apple trees like Spies ,Cortland, Greenings, Baldwin, and Red Delicious onto these new fangled trees, they call apples, now adays. Apples have lost their flavor, for the most part. I don't enjoy eating local grown ones. I also think, they have priced themselves way out of the market. I know costs are way up, but when does an item get to be not worth the money to purchase?

Interesting, yes. I thought I missed cause he was right over a rock wall and all I had was his head, so I ran over to check cause another bird was comin hard, carried him back pulled decoys and sat down, the other bird came out 5 mins later. I hunted all morning sat, struck up 8 gobblers, 2 came in and different times, saw the Jake decoy and bolted. Gonna bring a youth hunter to that spot Sunday,
