Myt little guy didn't budge even with the dogs on him. You are right they are born with it.

I saw my first bee of the year but it was a bumble bee . We need the honey bees for pollination !
-
This little one was obeying one of the deepest instincts that deer are born with. It's not something that they reasoned out or are taught. It just is somehow imprinted in their brain at birth. I snapped a couple of pictures of this critter before I backed away and let nature take its course. The strange thing is that I have also seen versions of this same behavior in adult deer, where they were willing to sit tight at close range and let me walk right on by.

Drop With The Chain Saw
landtracdeerhunter replied to landtracdeerhunter's topic in General Chit Chat
Looked out my front window, the sky was full of bees . Used the chain saw to settle them onto the same tree limb the other swarm lit days ago on. Twos a charm. -
This mus ran right by the kill zone a couple of times before it stopped. I gave it an insurance shot just in case because wounded mus are very dangerous. SJC

I've never seen them in the grass, like this before Always find them in areas of brush and along hedge rows. They also bed in heavy clover in my hay fields.

Just checked the spot they moved on.

There is a game on youtube with Phil playing against a very good Alabama team, although LT lost mostly because they were outmanned, Phil had a decent game and looked pretty darn good to me. Al

All these years in the woods I never came across a bedded Fawn. Took the dogs for a walk and they were ahead of me. Tall grass they were very interested in something. It was a fawn. It would not budge from its position. Even with the dogs over it. I got them out of there pretty quick. Glad I wasn't mowing. Pretty happy they didn't go after it.
