  1. Hi All, It's been a long while since I posted here. I apologize for "just dropping in," and if this is not appropriate of course, mods please delete. I don't mean to offend or trample any rules. I have a beautiful, intelligent, loving, sweet, gentle, loyal Long-Hair German Shepherd. I love him more than any creature I've known in my life. He wakes me up every morning rubbing his face against mine and cooing love noises. He is an amazing dog. He is 5 years old, intact, and has had extensive training. Unfortunately, he HATES my neighbor's poodle (as do I, along with the neighbor). And he has now twice broken loose and attacked the dog. We live in a small neighborhood in the suburbs of NYC (which I also hate, but my work ties me), and these people regard me as a total redneck pariah. So... there is now talk of legal action. And I really need to find him a new home. It breaks my heart, more than I can express. I'm reaching out to the venues/friends/places I know where there might be kindrid souls, good people who might want and be able to love and care for such a dog. There is of course no money thing here, for the right home I will deliver him and whatever stuff we have of his (bed, leashes, food, toys... he would love the continuing scents etc.). All I want is to find him a loving home. Please reply or message me if you think you might be interested, or know someone who is. Thanks, jmark

  2. Today I put my domestic Royal Palm Turkeys I raised from last year outside in their summer pen for the first time. It was not long before a war of gobbles between my Toms and the local wild bunch took place with a lot of strutting a couple of hundred yards apart, things are going to be interesting around here. Al

  3. Man, I totally get your frustration. It's a shame we have to deal with these disrespectful hunters ruining it for everyone else. Smart move sticking to state land to avoid the drama.

  4. You have permission, you are ahead of the game, but we seldom can change peoples long term thoughts....but you can head them off. An offer to post the property at the access sites? Put a camera up or two to help their security and peace of mind? My property borders state land and a neighbors. Both propertys are posted. The previous owner we were both happy to allow the other to wander/hunt on the property if no one was there (easy to see if cars are present). When asked, the current owner was very politely hesitant to agree to the same (to my dismay....his nearest corner is a great funnel area). I could see he was uncomfortable with me asking. I quickly stated, " You and I both have our own camps for the same reason. We want to know who is on them. No problem. Smiles returned, good relations maintained. And I honor that.

  6. Im currently debating a Libbie dude on the NJ forum who (Surprise!) has a dreadful case of TDS and believes the #1 issue this country faces is income inequality !! Doesnt matter WHEN ,WHERE OR WHAT time frame were talking about, some of these Lefties are SO classically trained and ideologically entrenched that the Chinese Army could be in the midst of launching an invasion-through our open souhtern border, nonetheless- and , literally, at their front door and they would say that, anyway!! unbelieveable

  7. I love the Browning Auto 5s, they are timeless classics and worth putting time into, the receivers are real tricky to take apart and reassemble. Years ago the first one I totally took apart to clean I could not get it back together, I had to have gunsmith Bill Demare of the old Lefever Arms up in Lee center NY show me how, there is a technique and sequence, he was good, he could do it blindfolded. These days there are probably good videos on youtube to help. Al

  8. Anyone who tries to defend the cluster F the Biden administration is causing in the states and around the world has no seat at my table. No one can be that stupid to create what's happening at the border's and around the globe, so it has to be intentionally done and that's unforgiveable. The really sad part is that most of the Democrat voters are ok with it and think America is on the right track. It's like living in an episode of the Twilight zone. SJC
