  1. very nice bucks and pictures. I was looking at the M80 today and was thinking about pulling the trigger on one. The infrared pictures have good quality as well as the color daytime. The thing that stopped me from buying one is the delay. From what I have heard the 15 second minimum delay becomes closer to 34 seconds when you have the burst mode set. Overall though looks like a nice trail cam for the price. keep us posted on those bucks and I would like to see some daytime pics when you can post some.
  2. no big boys but a few interesting pics.
  3. beautiful assorment. your S600 takes great pictures. that 10 is wide.
  4. Yea right me too. lots of antler there.G ; what county was that again?
  5. Go on Archertalk.com and look for a guy with the user name "12ringer"; I bleieve he is the buisness of building and selling. he can normally be found in the bowhunting sub forum game camera section. also "buckshot164" is very involved with the homebrew builds.
  6. thanks all; these pics were all taken with " homebrew" trailcams built from kits that use mostly older model Sony digicams. the pictures are normally much better quality than what you would normally get from commercially built trail cameras. While I have been at this hobby kind of passionately for a few years now, anyone can get their hands on these homebrew builds and then put in some time, find some sets, and get some great pictures. As far as AR's go here in Orange, I'm not aware of any but I'll have to check again for the 2011 season as these can change from year to year. the 2 bigger bucks in this woodlot were not present in the multi buck picture. In fact haven't gotten the bigger boy in quite a while. While this spot in Middletown, NY (Orange county) is not known for many bucks getting to the 130 class, this one had some promise, but has not been seen for a while. Lets hope it's the summer doledrums and that he might be more active come fall.` this pic was taken with a Sony P41 homebrew trailcam (4.1 megapixel ) :
  7. a few recent ones from different sets:
  8. not yet on my home turf, but I did on a 2009 midwest bowhunt in Missouri. Got a trail cam pic of a decent buck in one spot; moved about 300 yards and arrowed the same 8 point 3 days later. I wouldn't be complaining about that nice droper you shot either; nice work!
  9. A couple of goodies in there. The first pic has about a 4 weeks of growth left while the tall tined buck in the 2nd post has both width and heigth. very nice!
  10. Brows and the main beam are the first things to grow from the bases, if he doesnt have them now, he wont this year. never said he had brows or he didn't, or that there was still time to grow them.I simply stated that from the angle of the head in the picture that it was impossible for me to be sure if he had them or not.
  11. hard to tell if the 1st larger buck has any brows; could be the angle of his head way up. still about 4 weeks left to grow from the date on the pictures.
  12. your 1st picture does a good job of illustrating the cosmetic skin / hide problems that these deer have to deal with during this time of year.
  13. I would agree that this animal is not in flight. The flash went off in this picture and if the insect is flying then where are the buzzing wings with light reflecting off of them. I don't see that or any hint of blurryness that fast moving wings surely should have created when the flash hits them.I say it's on the ground but I can't quite see a "walking stick either from the refernce pictures I have looked up, but that could be due to the angle in my pic being quite different than the others I saw.
  14. taken with various homebrews:
  15. I was thinking a menber of the "walking stick" family, but those sticks are put together different.A common answer is the large female mosquito or cousin of which I have some questions about: 1st) would a bug have the presence to trigger this trailcam? I don't recall insects ever triggering my cams before. 2nd) If the insect did actually have the mass to trigger the camera then it would have to be rather large, airborne in flight, and very close to the fresnel sensor; and if that is the case then why do you not see the action of the wings or the reflection off of the wings that the cameras flash surely should have produced? I don't see any visual evidence in the picture of the beating wings being highly visible like they should be. I have hummingbird pics wheer the wings are blurred and highly visible. In this case I would also have expected these buzzing wings to have a blurred and glowing appearence especially at close range, but here I don't see clear evidence of this even though an acceptable focus is present on the subject .
  16. got these from a Trophy cam. pics are edited to improve quality.
  17. some very nice exposures from your Cudde; very nice pics in that lot. I have a freind with some of the older Cuddes; 2 meg, 3meg, and 4. He never sets them out and has talked about selling them.
  18. Is this what I think it is?
  19. Mostly on Raquette lake (Hamilton county) for lake trout and smallmouth bass.
  20. I have this posted on 3 other forums and including this one the vote is 12 to 6 in favor of it being the same deer. This deer would be about 2 years and a few months older in the recent pics than she was in the snow pics from Feb of 2009. As animals we all change our appearance as we age, so it is indeed conceivable that the appearance of the missing leg could change as well. What is odd is that I have not had a picture of her since 2009 but then again this camera site could be on the outskirts of her home range or she just might be the more reclusive type. Who knows?
