  1. Marshy creek bottoms. Only hunt private land.
  2. Made it happen today at 7:20. Quick version, been seeing this guy in camera. Also a shooter 6. Yesterday I had a bunch of doe and a button under my stand at 3:30. The button attempts to climb up on one of the doe. She runs him off, but when she does that her tail flicked and she had a bloody backside. Figured they were ready to go. Later that night I had this broke tine 9 coe out on adjoining property, but no shot. Too far. In fact he was in a tree huggers yard that hates hunters and has harassed hunter in the past. Fast forward, this morning I put a Montana Decoy Estrus Betty on the creek bottom that I am in 25 yards from meet. I hang a wick of Code Blue Doe Estrus in front of her. I was in before dark and sprayed my boots and stand tree with Nose Jammer. I have the wind in my face, the decoy facing cross wind and the sun is at my back. Perfect ambush. at 7:10 the 6 comes out on the tree huggers field. I turn a Doe in Heat Can on him and he locks in on the decoy. He gets downwind of her and now has the smell of love. He's is heading towards her. I'm up in the stand, have my bow in my hand. He's 40 yards out coming. Then stops!!! WTH. He starts snorting. Then tails up and heads off fast. I'm about to sit down and I see movement coming across the far side of the creek to the right. It was this buck. He likely scared off the six. I tip the bleat can again. He runs across the creek, locks on the decoy gives up a 30 yard 1/4 to look. I draw the bow. Whistle at him. He stops and I let it fly. I spined him and he's down in his tracks. Give him twenty minutes to quiet down. I climbed out of the tree. He rouses again but goes no where, I put in a finisher that cut his heart in half. Could not be happier with the outcome,... I thanked the man up stairs and my dad who is three seasons in the happy hunting ground this month. My rig is a Diamond Deadeye 70#, 29" Easton Nemesis 340's and G5 Deadmeat head.
  3. Got me the same truck and though the same thing!
  4. Or is that because the highest number of hunters are in the woods......
  5. they absolutely fold back. Got first hand experience with it.
  6. I was thinking the Truglo Bow model with the 3 dots in it,...... Someone gave me the right base from a bowhunting turkey set up he use to shoot. Thoughts.....
  7. what is that drone IR photography......
  8. deer worth banging in sick for...... just sayin...
  9. yes, the blades all move independently of each other. Its a ball and socket on the back of each blade. The blades don't interlock into one another when they deploy. I think the Havoc's did and we're considered barbed. The Deadmeat's don't. I will also say that the Ramcats look interesting as well. Watch this clip. He talks about this at the end of the video.
  10. 4 half days in the stands two different spots . 10 or 11 deer total seen. One swing an d amiss, one lost to a should shot and one doe tagged. I'm not upset with the action so far.
  11. Anyone ever try using a red dot site on a bow? The crossbow models with the multi dots. Just curious. https://www.xofan.com/compound-bow-red-dot-sight/
  12. Will they fit inside the .019 pin opening? The AXT is a weird set up, probably why they are out of business now.
  13. Read my post from last week. Same deal. Sux!
  14. So it doesn't make sense that red would be brighter than green unless the green stand was damaged. Are they a bitch to change? Do they loose their light transmission capability over time?
  15. I believe Kansas did this many years back. They now have a very short gun season but very long bow and muzzle loader seasons. When they did it, it was an effort to build a better heard of bigger bucks. I think it worked out well for them.
  16. Is it possible for pins to become dimmer or is it my eyes. I cam see the red pin, the green not so much...... Pins on the sight appear to the .019 size. That seems to be about average. Any ideas? It's an Archer Xtreme Headhunter 5 pin sight that I like a lot. I would just like it better if I can see my top pin!!!! This was not a problem last season.
  17. Redemption shot yesterday afternoon. I took a descent size vesion donation doe. She walked in alone. G5 Deadmeat into the boiler room. She made it all of 10 yards. Had a young six come in earlier but no shot and we will see what he look like next year. I put one of those Montana Decoy "Estrus Betty" doe out at in front of the stand with a few drops of estrus on a wick in front her. It is amazing how that locked up that 6! A few estrus bleats and he was absolutely in love. Pretty cool to watch. All told I had 6 deer at that stand between 2:00 and 3:45 when I shot her. Back to the subject at hand. I high lunged her from 23 yds off a 12' stand (low canopy on that spot). She ran into a muddy spot at the edge of a creek. My guess is she got stuck and started thrashing which is why she only made it that far. The Deadmeat fully deployed all three blades. Arrow looked like someone painted it red. Where she stood was a bloody mess. Both lungs were cut. The shot was a little high up so she held a lot of blood inside. I'm happy with the result and the harvest was about as merciful as an arrow can be. Plus some Hillary voters will get to eat good deer burgers for me doing my part. A win / win I suppose.
  18. The BMP is signigicantly wider than the Rage practice tip. Shooting long access on a foam block would cause more resistance, yet it was 3" deeper......
  19. I don’t blame the head for failure. Im pissed that the head fell to pieces. The archery industry will post videos of board head shots going though steel drums. 3/4” sheets of plywood and even moose shoulders wrapped in deer hide. Truth is it is all crap. My bad shot was my fault. The components of the head and their construction is on them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
