  1. It's residential with a 3 acre lot that backs up to a river bottom. The furthest point from the driveway is 100 yards as a crow flies to the stand. They've never been in there this early. That is what has me wondering if they are just on an earlier cycle for now and it will switch back as the moon phase changes. IDK, but hoping.
  2. I traded with a guy.... Anyone know much about 280 Rem? Has a VX1 on it. Looking for info.
  3. One of my spots that has been a better spot than most this season has the deer on a different pattern. I get in about an hour before first light and the walk from the truck to the stand is less than 100 yards. But I'm bumping the deer out, I hear them running out of there in the dark the moment they see the flashlight beam. Its private land and the way I get in is the only way that I can. I'm use to see upwards of 10 or 12 different deer in there every morning. Now I'm lucky if I see two. I don't know if their patterns changed, or if they are on a more active dark cycle. Just doesn't make sense. I'm thinking to stay out for about a week and let the spot cool off. I was hitting the stand about two or three mornings a week. Even activity on the cameras has slowed down. Any ideas?
  4. Upstate with the Muzz..... Down here we are still in our regular (bow) season.
  5. Think it was saying license, ammo and fuel only on that.
  6. I’d call a whitetail farm and ask them what they think. Seems early for a shed to start. Sounds more to me that something is wrong with that deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. A friend who is in the food / restaurant business sent them to me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. The cables are a great idea. My crew was actually talking about that in deer camp this season as well. Just some plastic coated aviation cable would work well.
  9. This is getting ridiculous, but it you apply any rearward pressure to the far tips of the blades they slide back into the ferrule. Hence forming an angle of less than 90 degrees and not barbed. It does this because each blade rides on its own track and don't interlocking like the Havoc's do and the Rage 3 blades.
  10. Was he using Big & J in that bird feeder??????
  11. he is really lucky. But no joke I change all of the ratchet stars on my ladders every other year. Take as few chances as I have to.
  12. moon is a killer. Hunted a productive stand yesterday from 2 to dark...... One tail went up across the road in a field when I was driving out at 5:30.
  13. I did this yesterday night. When opened any rearward pressure on the backs of the blades make then slide back into the slots on the ferrule they ride in. They don't collapse forward like a forward deploying design will, but they do retract.
  14. I bow hunted yesterday morning in one of my spots near my house. Deer were very much on the move. Had a small 6 in front of me for 20 minutes or so. He was making some small shapes and doing a little rubbing. He came in with 3 doe. He wasn't a shooter so I took video of him instead on my iPhone. I'd post it here but I don't think the site allows us to upload video.
  15. It doesn't seem so difficult to tear the entire gun down to a stripped receiver. Am I mistaken on that?
  16. Think I did okay on this one. Serial number goes back to 1976. It was an original owner estate sale gun at a local shop. 30-06. Seems lightly handled, although the ejector port dustcover cover is cracked. If anyone knows how to install that without removing the barrel to take the entire bolt out, please tell me. I ordered up a Redfield Revolution 3-9 for it.
  17. You can use a bow during any and all seasons. In Suffolk we can bowhunt through Feb.
  18. My first arrow prevented him from dying on a PETA members driveway.
  19. I swear by it. I've had deer lay next to my stand when I use it. Completely calms them down. Smells like vanilla and fern oil. Very natural smell for them.
  20. thanks for telling me that,.... just fixed that check in thing on FB.
