    I would love to hunt Kodiak island bears. That would be my dream hunt .

    I sometimes get a feeling like my dad is saying here they come sit still silly . Then deer show up .My dad has been gone 25 years . But it always seams to happen . He hangs out with me during hunting season .

    Woohoo we went out yesterday walked 6 miles took us 5 hours looking for sheds nothing . Nothing but ticks lots and lots of ticks. Did find a skull .

    My sister and I walk miles and miles and sometimes we find one or two .But most of the time it's just a long walk lol. I do have 5 sheds so I will catch up sometime lol

    Starting to think that this puppy is not a pointer collie mix I am thinking it has jack Russel In it with something like beagle legs are not long enough for pointer feet are to small. He does point at the cats . But very stubborn.

    We added a new family member .Meet max he is pointer collie mix . Going to be my new walking and hopefully Hubby's new hunting partner.

    Well hubby shot all my reading and studying out of the water . He went to the pound and brought home a pointer collie mix .Looks like it will all training now for me he is cute and he is already point ( at the cats ) so now I have to get the training equipment out to start the process. First the common commands and his name . My husband named him max .

    Thank you all I have been reading up on all sporting breeds and learning about all of them . Now I am reading on the training and hunting parts of it . I am looking in to alot of things before I jump in . We have a dog now she is a miniature schnauzer she loves to go with us when we bird hunt but she is not a pointer or flusher .Lol she is a chaser squirrels deer foxes everything that runs lol so . I will keep looking and reading .

    We are looking for a hunting partner . I am very fond of the Brittany spaniel. Hubby likes a springer spaniel or lab . Which do you think would be better for birds like pheasent grouse or Woodcock's . I think the lab would be only good for ducks . Not sure about using a lab as a pointer. Thoughts please.

    I took the easy route . I join a group every Dec it's call 1000 miles a year. Every year you make a goal to walk 1000 miles not to hard 3 miles a day . This year I upped it to 2000 miles a year so that's 6 miles a day I do alot looking for sheds and when we go hiking so I am thinking I can do it . I only count exercise miles I don't count my everyday walking like work .

    I remember when I first started my sister and I walked in at stewart to meet my dad there was a group of hunters including my dad and when we said morning .The others were like girls. They wanted to know where we would be hunting so they would be farther away from us . My father was so proud of us . He said they are my girls and they most likely shoot better then you and will sit longer and respect people better then you. Hi girls .
