Those are not a sabot slug though. OP was asking about sabots
-
Hybreds, tried the elits, the express, the mags and the lites. All I did was waste a lot of money lol. But I spent the time and money shooting different sabots to find the one brand for each gun that patterned well. The Hornady SST was top dog in all my guns. Then they opened up rifle at camp so I dont use the shotguns any more. Swtiched to my 30.06 I hunt with at home, which also shoots Hornady SST really well.
-
I cant get a lightfield to pattern in my Winchester, Remington or my Mossburg rattle trap. Hornady SST have been the most accurate and pattern really well out of all 3 of my shotguns. I also shoot Hornady SST in all my rifles and absolutely love them.

But if you use your dmp instead of your antlerless tag you have no doe tag for gun. I will always fill my antlerless tag before my doe tag so I can still hunt if I tag out on a buck early in gun.

Have you ever accidentally shot something?

I dont think I even want to know why you were standing in front of a mirror in your bathroom shooting your bow. WTF comes to mind lmao. -

These videos crack me up, there is a whole series of them Remington Arms put out. SInce you guys are on talking squirrel lol -
If they do re- issue you a tag it is going to take 3 weeks to get it. Have a buddy that when he applied for his dmp's the guy put in both his areas wrong. Store could not correct the issue and DEC re-issued his first correct choice dmp and said he had to return to the store where he made the purchase to get his choice 2 fixed. Yeah cause that all makes sense. It took 3 weeks to get his first choice in the mail and I dont know if the second has been corrected yet.

What does your insurance value the cabin at?

Actually this may be a good time. There is no monetary pressure on him. Would be a good time to learn and just plain enjoy yourselves. Good year to teach him how to handle the fur and you wont pop a blood vessel if he messes up a hide.

FSW Im not sure how close they are to the research facility Id have to ask. They said snipers been shooting deer there all summer. I have to agree with one of them. He says most everyone in the area are after trophy bucks and its a no no to shoot does. I know he has taken as many does as he can and gets a lot of grief for it. Anyhow he says CWD was "found" for a purpose. That purpose was to not piss off hunters by saying the deer herd is way to large and we are gonna cull cause hunters are not doing there job. So CWD was the answer to make the sniper killings "acceptable" to most local hunters in that area. By the response to my other pal who is scared chitless about even touching a deer it seems to be working out for the DNR.

I have to agree and that was my point. Just something else man feels the need to make a mess of.

No you dont. Columbus day weekend, its an absolute mob here. For the last 15 years I go to camp columbus weekend to get away from here. This year I stayed home and wish I didnt. Rubbernecks doing 20 in 55 is common place I guess. Took me 30 minutes just to get to town 7 miles away. I think the water has risen 6 feet in the river just from all the guys standing in it lol. -
We havent had a good CWD discussion in a while . I got pals in Michigan that are now in a CWD zone. After a chat about it one of them is saying they need to forgo the monster buck and go after the the young bucks to stop the spread. I just shook my head with no answer. After some thought I went searching. A Wisconsin study showed that up to 18% of positive cases were Adult bucks, up to 7% adult does, up to 6% yearling bucks and up to 5% yearling does. Maybe Im reaching here but I see a correlation. Boone and Crockett top 10 big buck states from #1 to #10. Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan. All but one being Kentucky has reported cases of CWD. With Wisconsin's study and the top 10 big buck states all but 1 having CWD cases am I off my rocker to say Older class trophy whitetails and CWD seem to go hand in hand?

This video has gone viral in past couple days. I still laugh my head off every time I watch it though. I think we all can relate to one of these stereotypes at some point in our lifetime.

Everytime I pheasant hunt there I have always wondered how many bowhunters were in the woods. The way they cut the fields with all those tall rows of grass, all the hedgerows and strips of trees doesnt surprise me at all the deer would head to the fields there. I would grid that field, if its down there probably a good chance a pheasant hunter or his dog may find it. Lots of human pressure on Sixty Road. Good thing is its gonna be a cold night, hit it again first light.

Funny thing is when us kids were coming of hunting age it was preached to us dont celebrate till you got your hands on the deer. I have a brother that you can be 5 miles away and know when he shoots a deer. He yells that loud lol. I will call him on the phone when I here him yooping it up and ask if he recovered it yet. Answer is always the same, nope still in my stand waiting for a while before I get down. I think he does it on purpose to mess with me.
-
Ha I wasnt actually thinking of when you did it. Hey we all f up sometime or another, no harm no foul in my book.
-
If your thinking of the same dude didnt he do it twice that year and took 2 beatings. Lmao

At camp we did not want people to know we lived over an hour away, so we posted with the address of the property. Make nice with the closest neighbor, take care of him/her if they would keep you informed of any mishaps there. Give them your phone number. Here at home I have 3 neighbors that live out of state, they all have fish camps and I keep an eye on them. The properties all join and they gave me sole access to hunt the land that totals over 60 acres. They take good care of me, I offered to have hunting rights if I kept an eye out and plowed there driveway in the winter if they come out. Works perfect for me and means the world to them.

Years ago when we got our land in southern tier we immediately posted it. After the nightmares of trespassers who "been hunting it for 40 years" got over themselves and there lies I can say I would never ever put my phone number on a posted sign. Unbelievable the walks of life out there and the things they do when they lose a hunting spot. I hope you and your dad never have to deal with any of these types but be prepared for some nasty phone calls if you post a number.
