  1. I ruined alot of phones over the years either on the water or in the woods. Started buying the casio's once they came out. Now past 2 years I have been using an andriod cammando smart phone. Best one I ever owned yet. Water proof, shock proof, shatter proof lens, dust proof. Hell I even ran over it with the tractor skidding logs out of the woods caouple days ago. Still working and looking new.
  2. Scraping is in the dirt, rubbing is on the tree.
  3. Im confused. How can permission give you the right to forbid the owner of his land from renting selling or leasing to others? You said you hunted that piece for free too. I am a tad confused on how in the subdivision you have a claus where no one can hunt, bike, 4 wheel, basically anything outdoor related but yet you have been hunting it based of permission from owner. So your deed says only you can do that on neighboring land and no one else who buys the neighbors land that you have no monetary investment in? Thats some messed up shit. Sure glad I live absolutely no where near that place.
  4. Scrapes been popping up in the north country here since mid august. Never remember seeing any that early.
  5. When I had to have my fisher pelts sealed every year from trapping I had to meet them at a rest stop on 81. At the time and might still be the same the officer that did the sealing was out of cortland. It could have changed or maybe there are a select few that cover different parts of the state. They also recomeded the pelt be already off the animal. Not necessary but that is how this guy prefered to handle the sealing. Was the same when beaver pelts had to be sealed as well. I do believe that sealing has to be done before they transfer hands. example, taxidermist or fur buyer.
  6. About 18 full cords in the house, not that face cord gimmick but full cords. Then another 10 to 14 full cords for the sugarhouse making syrup in the spring. Cut all the wood myself right from my land. Hard work is good for the soul. Atleast I keep telling myself that. I have fuel oil backup but havent had to use it in about 4 years.
  7. Sure could of used a bit more than a 20 minute downpour. Oh well thankfull for what we did get.
  8. Ever hear the expression you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig? I think that applies quite nicely here!
  9. What I see here is a sucker punch on paying more taxes. Lets think about this shall we. A dude thats really thirsty and wants a 32 oz drink buys a 32 oz drink and gets a 5c bottle tax right? Now the dude has to buy 2 16 oz bottles and get 2-5cent bottle taxes. Now lets cover this all up by saying we will call this trying to help out the fat asses urge to drink lots of soda. What a joke. Ever wonder where the bottle tax goes thats not claimed? This is nothing more than double dipping tax on taking advantage of a sugar addiction. You arent going to stop people from drinking more than 16 oz's of soda only when they have and will drink as much as they damn well want. Is this not AMERICA? This country has gone to complete shit. Once again thank you bastard liberals for your bullshit you inflict on us! To all you libs............. Kiss my white american ass!!!!! Im fed up!
  10. To be honest it would depend. Other bucks in the area, time of the bow season etc. But then if he stepped out on opening day dont let me kid you I would be giving it alot of thought myself.
  11. Hmmm I must be one of the outcast. I thought this was normal and everyone else who does not think along the same lines is a holic of some other sorts.
  12. LMAO funny how the mind works isnt it. Cant tell you how many times I seen just that as well. I find myself laughing at the guys on the Salmon River with 16 foot long noodle rods standing up to their neck in the middle of a good run and casting to shore. Then the guys on shore casting past the dude with the 16 foot noodle rod. Would love to know what those guys are saying as they speak russian. Good times.
  13. Well here is an update and some personal opinions. River is low, reservor is in sad shape, no rain no water. Temps are high. Salmon are in the river pretty heavy from Pulaski down, with schools starting to hit mid river and upper sections. Fish are stressed, counted 12 salmon floating dead in a about half an hour. Fish are dying from what I can tell from lack of oxygen. There is almost no pressure above pulaski as there are few fishermen up there. Hate to say this but they need to shut the river down or there will be a big loss in spawning fish that make it to the hatchery. Maybe this will wake some people up and stop the kayak water releases all summer long and hold water back for the multi million dollar revenue these fish bring to our local economy.
  14. Kind of like fishing on the lake Doc. You got miles of open water and everyone flocks to where the other boats are. Always got a laugh out of that when I tournament fished. A hundred teams fishing over the same fish and none of them dared to try a un-pressured spot whether they caught fish or not. Me I went the opposite direction. Must be brainwashed in some, if thats where everyone else goes or thats how everyone else does its got o be where the deer and fish are lol.
  15. This has gotten me a bit curious. I wonder what the results would look like if these numbers where not taken from license sales but from actual people who hunt. I cant recall the number of people over the years brag about those extra tags they got from there wifes license or someone elses who has neve even hunted a day in there life. Cant deny it we must all know of a joker or 2 that does this. The other thing that makes me think is the number of gun hunters who hunt more than opening weekend. Yep I have seen and know of a few of them myself. The opening day warriors and never to return for a year. Great for license sales I guess. This is all curiosity on my part but Im thinking the numbers would not be so majority if all things where considered. I dont know any bowhunters who put the effort and time in to be practical at filling a tag with a bow that is just the opening day warrior or one who does not spend several days in the field. The next thing that comes to mind is I also do not know any bowhunters who do not gun hunt as well. I sure do know alot of gun hunters who dont bow hunt though. Generally speaking the wild rants about bowhunters wanting it all to themselves or the me me me, bullshit is quite rediculous. First off why would one not support the part of the deer season they love the most? Do you gun hunters only not do just that as well? I think you nay sayers would find that the vast and large majority of bowhunters are gunhunters as well. I would give far more credibility to a statement without the BS behind it. I do not know if it comes from the lack of time some are allowed to put in the hard work and dedication to take a bow afield or its just they want first crack at the deer. Or maybe its just a true lack of desire and lack of interest to put the effort into bow hunting. I spend months in anticipation of bow season, I also spend months in anticipation of gun season. I cant wait for bow to start, I hate to see it end but I love seeing gun start. One thing is true whether its a bow hunter or a gun hunter the goal and passion pretty much is the same.
  16. Thats a bobcat. Take a look I see no long tail dangling behind that thing.
  17. Probably just one of the reasons why Fur Fish and Game is still my go to mag. You dont see pictures on the cover you see paintings of wildlife.
  18. Well that puts you at 239.4 grains on your arrows. Add in your broadheads plus inserts and vanes. I also shoot Full Metal Jackets and after shooting all sorts of brands I will not switch back. 11.3 gpi I believe puts me at 464 with full dressed arrow. Personally after seeing the difference in the way they put deer down I would not be under 450. Need grains to penetrate and can not stress razor sharp broadheads enough.
  19. It would depend on the warranty. If record keeping such as receipts is not acceptible and requires a dealer to do the inititial maintanence not to void warranty then off to the dealer. I would think it would be a plus if you can negotiate the initial service in the buy of the machine also. Definately check warranty requirements first.
  20. Most of you know my stance on the youth hunt. In case it was missed Im all for it. The thing that I would have rather seen is a youth bow hunt during bow season and a youth gun hunt in gun season. It does seem odd to me how they stuck in the guns. The only thing that makes sence to me in not the better warmer weather but the best opportunity of them hunting deer in a more natural enviorment versus deer running for there lives from deer drives and gun blast. The whole idea is to create enthousiasim, we all know this day and age there are not many kids who will sit without the reward of seeing deer. I cannot get on the band wagon some are claiming dad just doesnt want them shooting there deer. I personally do not know anyone with that concept of mine mine mine when it comes to there kids. The one thing I have not seen mention that would bother me the most is some of these guys putting on deer drives to the kids. Deer drives alone have to be the biggest opportunity for something bad to happen. Stick first time hunters into that eqauation not good. Hence the reason I say youth bow hunt, in the bow season. Of course it takes more than one weekend for a mentor to spend with a kid getting him prepped and shooting well too. Now that Im saying all this I think I would much rather see them take the last day of bow and first day of gun for the youth hunt. There is just no quick fix, no matter how its looked at. Atleast it has been acknowledged and hopefully its not as Doc says it being a pat on the back and move on. Hopefully it gets looked at closely, tweeked and improved over the years.
  21. How many years now have Muzzle loaders been in the woods same time as bowhunters in NZ? Turkey hunters, small game hunters all in the woods at same time as well. This is nothing new to the bowhunting world. Wear some orange, use your head and be safe.
  22. Read what I wrote! Not read what you think it says lol. Saddam Hussein was a terrorist and supported terrorism, plain and simple, a terrorist is the enemy again plain and simple. We took that threat out. I would hate to think about what you libs would have to say if we didnt. No where did I say Weapons of Mass Destruction. Please quote me on that one. I said disarm there weapons. A weapon in a terrorist hands is just that a weapon. Also please tell me where I said Obama is a muslim. Just another misquote again. The point is and will remain that this guy thinks he is above all else and with his socialist elite attitude he has of himself dont be suprised if he will all have us bowing to him. Also would love to hear how Saddam had nothing to do with the Iraq war. Last I knew he was the 5th president of Iraq. Yeah Im a troll spewing and supporting libs. If what you call "uniformed" is your lib view on twisting what I said than yeah I guess Im uniformed.
