  1. The experience is different for everyone. Regret and remorse are negative emotions by your standards, not mine. I do not regret killing enough to stop hunting, I do however feel sadness for the animals I kill. It doesn't ruin my hunting experience, it is just a part of the emotions I feel after being successful. I do not enjoy killing, it is simply part of what we do.
  2. Remorse and regret are an integral part of hunting, anyone who does not experience these feelings after a kill is in need of help. These emotions keep us in touch with the reality and seriousness of what we are doing. It's easy for a non - hunter to buy store bought meat, yet be critical of hunters. They lack the experience of death & the finality of taking a life, yet they are still responsible for it. By killing our own meat, and accepting responsibility for death, we are some of the few who can truly appreciate where our food comes from. I'm often asked how I can claim to have the utmost respect for game, yet take life so easily. I answer that it is not easy taking a life & if I need to explain it, they would not understand anyway. I think I speak for most of us when I say that I truly love, respect and admire every animal, especially those I hunt.
  3. Devote our time and energy to getting our "illegitimate, liberal, lying D-bag" commander in chief, out of office. "Welcome to Kenya, birthplace of Barack Obama"

I have a couple Pumas. One is a White Hunter, not sure of the model on the other, it was my grandfather's.
  6. "Local hunter found dead from apparent deer attack. The victim suffered several wounds, and had hoofprints on various parts of his body, especially the forehead. The county medical examiner is checking for signs of sexual assault"
  7. I have an old Sears & Roebuck pump action 20Ga. I got it from my Grandfather when he passed away. Unfortunately, he did not maintain his weapons very well. The blueing is almost completely gone, and there was some rust on the barrel. I got the rust off, but the barrel is just exposed steel, and it keeps flashing over, every time it gets wet. I want to camo the whole gun. I can't afford to have it professionally dipped, it's about $120.00. i've seen several people attempt DIY gun painting, and it doesn't come out well. Most of the guns I've seen, the paint does not seem to adhere well to the metal, and you can scratch it off easily with your fingernail. Anybody know how to prep and paint the metal in a way that will result in a durable, matte finish? The wood is not an issue, I've sanded it, and I'm sure the paint will adfhere to it. Any advice would be really helpful. Thanks!
  8. She's beautiful. Please show us some more pics once you get some animals.
  9. Stupid question Buck, what's a BO requirement?
  10. Thanks RSS, I'm not sure who is more excited, her or me.
  11. Never hunted out that way Walt. In some of my spots, there are areas with many reds, and few greys. A lot of times, In the late season, the greys are really localized around a single food source. I killed a limit a few weeks ago, all 6 of them were within 40Yds of the same black walnut tree. I limited out in less than 40 minutes, and when I left, they were still running around. I went out the next day to a different area on the same hill, and there was not a squirrel to be found anywhere but the same spot as the day before. Good idea with the bird feeder.
  12. I got a really nice ruck sack from my Girlfriend, a pair of snowshoes from my mom, and some really cool survival stuff. I love cactuses, so the GF got me a bunch of cool stuff for growing them ( seeds, and fertilizer ). She's really looking forward to the exotic hunt that I bought for her, it's going to be a great experience for her!
  13. Good luck Paula! Send me a PM if you want to go out in Churchville this week in the AM. I have 2 new spots to try, 10-12 acres each.
  14. Went out today. Crappy. Got one red and missed a rabbit 2X.
  15. Hope you kill one with his gun, I got my first deer with my Grandpa's old Ithaca model 900 this year, it was the most special deer I think I have ever killed. He's been gone since 2006, I've been trying with it ever since.
