  1. I agree 100% and especially about being a big softie on lots of things but not hunting.
  2. When I killed my first deer 4 years ago I felt mixed emotions. My initial feeling was like "Wow! I can't believe I just killed a deer." When I approached it and saw the shot placement I felt happy that it did not suffer. This was also met with an ever so slight feeling of sympathy. Since then I learned to look at it as business and survival of the fittest. I put myself and my family's needs above those of the whitetail or any other edible wild game. Now I'm sure some will say that I have no compassion. Well Last I checked we as humans are higher up on the food chain than any other animal. Just like chickens and cows were bred for consumption so too is the whitetail, wild turkey, wild boar and the like.
  3. Are we turning this into a "Bash the Bow Hunter" thread.
  4. Actually the instructions and videos say you can shoot with or without a peep. I didn't take it off yet. I want to shoot more and get comfortable before I do. In fact the peep helps me focus better. My eyes aren't the best but my problem has always been torque. I also looked at the hind site but I didn't like the idea of having to look at two different pins to shoot. With the square up you just make sure that your pins are in the middle of the two bars and pick your pin to shoot.
  5. Here are some pics of the Square Up installed on my bow This is the shooter's view This is shooter's view but angled This is side view This is mount side
  6. Nice!!! I wasn't even trying but I was thrilled believe it or not that I came so close. I just bought a dozen CX arrows and I don't want to bust them up. Knowing that I could do it, makes me one happy bow hunter!!!
  7. Well, I installed the new Square Up from SquareUp Archery. It took about 20 minutes or so to install it and line it up with my bowsite. I had to realign my site down a bit and raise my pins. But I was able to sight in my first pin at 11 yards (that's all the room I had to play with today). I need to re-sight the rest of my pins when I get to the range. I shot a few arrows and much to my surprise it WORKED!!!!. I grouped several arrows within an 1-2" or so and almost did a Robin Hood. The SquareUp really forced me to keep my bow hand relaxed. I was surprised when I first drew back and looked through the peep that I had to adjust my bow hand to literally square it up with my bow sight. I can't wait to try it a longer distances.
  8. Jumping on them with a hunting knife in your teeth Rambo style. Just kidding. No seriously I think the hardest way is with a recurve or longbow on spot and stalk.
  9. I got two happy smiling kids on Christmas morning - I touch and iPad for them and a happy wife with a diamond heart pendant. I got a camo fleece jacket, camo fleece lounge pants which my 10 y.o. son picked out, 2 shirts and a watch valet. Going to be hitting the after Christmas sales this week at Dicks for myself.
  10. Yeah me too especially after eating for two days straight. Lol
  11. Got my new Squareup on Friday. I'm going to be installing it tonite and testing it out. I hope it helps me. I can use all the help I can get. Lol
  12. Ralph at CB archery set up my bow for $50 couple years ago. Did a good job.
  13. Karp I don't know if I would do something like that myself. Adding rests, peeps, nocks and the like yeah I would do myself. But not re-stringing. Wouldn't want to have it malfunction when im at full draw.
  14. Sorry to hear about your loss. Always difficult around the holidays.
  15. Should be an interesting game. They both blew it bad last week.
  16. John glad to hear all is well. Merry Christmas and God bless you and your family.
  17. Last I checked Christmas is all about the birth of CHRIST. So Merry CHRISTmas and GOD BLESS US all!
  18. Merry Christmas to you and your family. May God bless us all.
