    I put some scent out on way in to the stand this afternoon. Climbed up and was getting things organized and I spike came right in. Checked cams earlier and a lot of bucks including two newbies!

    I scraped this mornings hunt with the strong winds. I'll check cams at some point. Nothing but deer hunting for the next 11 days.

    Girlfriend texted saying there are two bucks by the house. I’m across the road so I rattled and grunted and in came a spike rubbing and working a scrape. And às I’m typing this a small 6 came through doing the same. Not the two by house either.

    I really need some more NE wind setups. Predominantly NW winds here. So I’m in a pop up where I usually do a decoy set up later in the season.

    A spike and a large button buck. 5 deer all bucks this morning!

    Had my top priority sparring with a small 8pt. about 100 yards out. Then a 4pt. came through. All quiet now.

    Discipline! or I lost my mind! 6:30ish I had a spike, a small 8pt., and a good 7pt. at 20 yards feeding without a care in the world. And i let them walk. I have my sights on a bigger deer so i held off for now. But wow was that exciting!

    Boy how I missed sitting in this tree! Sitting over an apple tree and a patch of oats and brassicas. Southwest wind in my face.

    I'm originally from NJ and have lived here about 20 years. My Dad built a camp here back in the 1960's and I have always loved it here. Not as many farms as there once was and a lot of mature woodlands have taken over. I'm a little pickier what I shoot these days but there are usually some good bucks around. I do plant food plots and do some habitat management on about 62 acres.

    Welcome Mule! I'm on the Andes & Bovina border and have hunted here my whole life. Sounds like your only a couple miles away. Actually I'm quite surprised how many close by members have chimed in. Not sure if I missed it Mule but where are you from?

    Two years ago I unknowingly walked up on a couple of cubs. The sow charged and realized the cubs were on the same side of the road as she was and she stopped. She stood there popping her jaw as I backed away yelling at her like a little girl. I've never been so scared.

    I haven't seen one since early June and haven't got many picture until my last camera check. Got a lot of fawn pics.
