where I hunt, I would take the first week on Novemebr.. It always seemslike +/- a few days around halloween are always good. Not always the craziest in terms of sightings and movement, but always seems to be good for shot opportunities at quality bucks.
-
I will be there Sunday. Looking forward to it.. Was next to the 18th green last time around and witnesses that amazing 7 iron shot. Also was there for the 1989 US Open..

choke tubes are sold... mount is still available. I have a Tasco Pronghorn Shotgun Scope as well.. It is a fixed power scope (I believe 1.5x). Very simple, but got the job done many, many times. It is in very good condition. Will sell the mount and scope for $20, plus a few bucks for shipping.

I went thru a similar decision process as you a short time ago. Ido not have a S4, but have "played" around with a couple that friends have. In my opinion the iPhone is a bit more intuitive and easier to use. That is probably influenced by the fact that I to have an iPad, so everything is a bit more "familiar" I think if you have other Apple products, you need to keep that in mind. Everything synchs so easily across the products. I really like the fact that when I am using my iPad and I get a text message on my phone , it also comes in on my iPAd. The battery does not seem to be an issue for me... I charge it everynight and never seem to have a problem with battery life.

Livingston county rifle hunting for deer

I saw something online over the weekend where Coumo approved a couple of bills and Livingston County was nto one of them and that it would be at least another year. did anyone esle see that? -
Have a stand close to where you park for warm days. Getting all sweated up before getting in the stand is never a good thing and it is much harded to control early in the season (especially when sunny out)... Don't by into the fact that cover scents or scent eliminators will do the trick...

New Price of $250 firm... For anyone looking for a climber, take a look at what these stands are selling for (SD Model)... This is a fairly significant ($75+) savings for a stand that is essentially new. PM me if interested

I bought this last fall, along with the optional foot rest. I assembled it and tried climbing with it a couple of times. I just could never get comfortable in it and found myself not wanting to use it in favor of portable stands with climbing sticks. It has never been hunted from, has never seen rain, etc.. it is essentially brand new with the exception of the 2 times I tried it out. I paid $279 for the stand and $37 for the footrest, plus shipping. This is consistent with current pricing. I am looking to get $275, so about $50 savings... Everyone I talked to before buying it said it is a great stand.. It just was not for me. Email me if interested... [email protected]

Corn is very PH tolerant... Triple 15 will work well for corn
-
Once it dries the plant is essentially dead. It may remain green for a few days to a week, but it is going to die. What I have found to work the best is a mow what I am going to spray as low as I can. I spray it and then wait 2 weeks until everything is dead and really starting to dry out. At that point I till. For me 2 weeks seems to be just right. IF you wait until things die and dry out a bit, it makes it easier to work the ground. I use a 5 foot 3pt. tiller... those that use a plow may have a differnt view. The one thing that I have found over the years is that it does not take much to kill most of what is out there. A 2% solution works just fine (2quarts of 41% Glyphosate to 25 gallons of water). Also, watch for sales at Tractor Supply. Last year I bought 2.5 gal. containers of Gordon's Pronto Big n Tuf for $30 to $35 a container on sale. Almost half the price or better than Roundup brand. Same thing and works great

I would say that you timed it just right.. Too much rain can be a problem, but I am not sure we are in that situation (unless your part of the state has received a lot more rain than we have got in WNY)... I would expect that once the temp rises again on Tuesday, you should see the corn start to sprout.. It doesn't take long, assuming the right PH level and right amount of fertilizer. Makes you appreciate how tuff the life of a farmer is.. Being dependant on Mother Nature is a tuff gig!! Good luck..

slick trick broadheads have worked for me the past few years... I shoot 100 grain and they fly great. i practice out to 45 yards with consistent groupings.

you definitely do not want to use hay... Hay breaks down quickly and the twine is usually biodegradable, so the bale will fall apart very quickly. If you are going to go that route, you want straw and ideally, you want straw that is balled with wire and note twine. I agree with everyone else here... get a good target.. I have bought 2 block targets on Craiglist and both of them were almost new.. I think I paid $30 for one and $35 for the other.. I shoot my broadheads a lot (I am a firm believer that you should shoot with what you are going to hunt with) and the Blcok targets hold up pretty well. I do put straw bales behind the Block, as I have firends that seems to a bit wild with their shooting... IT doesn't always stop the arrows, but slows them down enough that you don't loose them..
