  1. Doc ---- Seriously , I have a gun scabbord . I bought it at a gun show a few years ago and never used it .
  2. Sign your doe tags over to someone who needs them and would use them . You said your freezer is full . Help someone else .
  3. I am new at using a Smoker as I purchased one last summer . I went with the Electric MasterBuilt as the electric smokers keep an even temperature . A neighbor had his electric and a friend's propane smokers going for a big party . Ran out of propane and had to drive to get tank filled so meat wasn't ready at same time . No big deal but when you are slow cooking and don't realize the propane tank is empty , it's a bummer !
  4. As a joke , it was Lame and Tasteless !
  5. You get a LIKE on this one !
  6. As I was driving down 590 and got to where it splits off to 490 the car on my right and ahead of me hit his brakes . I tapped mine and a doe ran across the road in front of us . Wasn't expecting that . Was in the elevated blind by 6:30 . There was a slight bit of rain , then snow then rain again but not much . Didn't see a thing all morning but heard an occasional shot here and there . My oldest son showed up around noon and headed to the woods .Around 1 pm I saw a doe come out onto one of the trails 150 yards away but crossed the trail into the high crap before I could get her in the scope . Around 2 pm I went to my double stand in the south east corner of the woods and again saw nothing . My son saw a spike and 3 fawns on the other side of the woods where he was sitting . They were close enough to shoot but not that big . Just before he was getting down from the stand he had to wait for 2 doe to clear and didn't shoot as it was past legal hours . Another exciting day in the Great Outdoors . Oh , I forgot to mention , it was COLD !
  7. Moog. ..you need to hunt on the expressway That is where I saw deer . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  8. Heard one shot at 705 nothing since . Kind of a rainy snow right now. I had a doe run across the road in front of me on the way here. It was right where 590 and 490 split . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  9. Back to Geneseo tomorrow am . I plan to sit in my elevated blind by the pond again . Looks to be a bit cold and windy . Possible rain / snow early am and maybe later . My oldest son might show up around noon . My SIL left a message this am the 2 anterless deer were in the pasture lot behind her house milling around for quite a while . It figures !
  10. Those big wheels help get me across plowed fields .
  11. You have to look up to read this one over a urinal that says " why are you looking up here , ashamed of it " ?
  12. Time left until King Barack leaves office http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=263&iso=20170120T00&msg=Time left until Obama leaves office
  13. Gotta get my walker painted Blaze Orange .........

  15. To add to what Growalot said ---- My sons and I hunt private land . When one of us is going to move or get down from a stand we let each other know before doing anything .We all wear blaze orange . You never know what someone on an adjacent property might do though .
  16. One upside to my Deer hunting activities is that I have lost almost 10 pounds so far this season . If I can keep this up , by the time I am 85 , I should be at a reasonable weight . In the past I had tried some 30 day diets and all I lost was a few months !
  17. I have put up many ladder stands by myself and thought the advertisement video was Bogus . Read the directions that come with a stand . On a ladderstand you attach ropes or straps to the seat or platform , put the stand against the tree and secure the ladder before climbing up to attach a ratchet strap . In the video , they are carrying a 30 pound stand and don't have a backpack with any gear in it . It's also not hard to move a ladderstand . Just put your head through one of the ladder openings and carry the weight on your shoulders . No biggie !
  18. Growie --- I think you have to act like today could be the last day of your life so live it to the fullest and do what you enjoy doing . I think when I croak I want someone to say , hey go out to Eddie's stand and see if his Blaze Orange Walker is still there .
  19. Another exciting day in the great outdoors . I was in my elevated blind by 6:30 this morning . Sat until just past noon and never saw a thing . Trimmed some branches and cut down a couple small trees . Walked slow through the thickets and back without seeing or hearing anything . I had my bow saw and loppers as well as my shooting sticks in a bag . As I was walking up the lane way , two doe jumped into it about 100 yards away . One scooted off and the other stood there watching me . After a couple minutes I slowly tried to put the bag down and the doe scurried off . As I was picking the bag back up , another doe ran out of the same area . So much for hunting !
  20. Not sure myself . I think I'd like to change some words to a song and call it "Achy Breaky Parts" . When I got done today walking across a bumpy plowed field and into the woods and back plus up and down a couple hills , my legs felt like lead . I'm feeling my age and wondering how much longer I can keep it up but I don't want to quit . I think it's called stubbornness ...... I don't quit because I can't shoot a deer from my computer .
  21. Sitting in my driveway right now. When I was making the long walk from the stand I kicked 3 doe out of the lane way. Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
  22. Nothing moving. I am going to get down at noon and trim a few limbs. Then I will walk back to the woods and check it out. My butt and legs have fallen asleep . Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk
