Ground Blind for bowhunting
fasteddie replied to THHuntNY's topic in Hunting Gear Reviews and Gear Discussions
Definitely a Hub Blind . Most of them are 60" X 60" so you can draw the bow without having to stick the arrow out of a window and get busted . -
You need a gun , ammo , hunting clothes , license , hunter safety class , place to hunt , processing fees , vehicle to transport the animal , etc .. The 2nd year some of those costs would be eliminated . I hunt several days during bow and gun season and had a couple bad years when I didn't fill tags . But , I got to enjoy the company of my sons while doing that and got to enjoy the outdoors . It depends on what your expectations are ..........

He would be handy if there was a tresspasser !

I havn't Spring Turkey hunted in a few years due to the Black Flies . I seem to be a magnet for these things . I have tried all brands of repellants and none seem to work for me .

I am not interested enough in crossbows to call about the recall . I don't support crossbows but I don't fight against them either . In the article I believe it stated there was "one" incident reported about a crossbow firing unexpectatly and now ther is a recall . Did they test that bow involved or just take the guy's word for it ? "Excalibur has received one report of the crossbow firing unexpectedly. No injuries have been reported."

I wonder if it had a broken leg .....

I deleted the SPAM ad ...................

Fired without pulling the trigger ? Only one incident reported ....... did it really happen ?

Many many years ago , there was a movie named "The Hustler" with Paul Neuman as Fast Eddie Felson as a pool hall hustler . One of the guys at work started calling me Fast Eddie and it caught on . Guys I hadn't seen in 20+ years would hollar across the room / parking lot , etc Hey , fast eddie so I took it as a user name . ( I probably should remove the "s" from fast )

Some would consider it a bow if it had a string attached .
-
papabear ----- you are repeating yourself .....
-
We had a guy from Michigan who makes strings on a site that I moderated . He sent me 2 sets of of strings / cables free for doing a review .. I had the strings ordered for my Ben Pearson TX-4 . The guy contacted Ben Pearson company and the the specific measurements . I had Dave , at Trophy Taker archery in Walworth install a set and I think he charged me $20 . The strings are great . Here are pics of before and after . The dull strings are the old ones .

gonehntn --- call a few of the local Bow Shops and compare prices . Make sure they can get the string / cables that you want for your bow .Where are you in Western NY ?
-
In Wayne County it gets signed by a judge and goes into a pile so you may have to wait a bit . But as Culvercreek stated , call the county clerk and ask .
-
And ..... they were smart enough to have a crank to draw the string back .
-
big yawn ........
