  3. I have a few different cams but so far I like the Primos Truth Cam Blackout . It takes 4D batteries that last quite well . They run $80 at WalMart . The Moultrie GameSpy I35 has been another good camera .

    Hello

Carson --- Welcome to Hunting NY
  5. Grow -- it's your opinion and belief so do as you please . I think you are going to extremes . I don't pull a gun up on the line until I am in the stand and have my harness hooked up . Then the gun is loaded and safety is on until I have a target . I can remove a shell without emptying the magazine but empty it anyways before getting down . I had to learn how to take the safety off my Winchester 1200 . Deer could hear the click which is much less loud than racking a round in the chamber . As for CC , the pistol is worthless if the chamber is empty . And ..... don't draw if you don't think you could shoot someone . You'll end up a statistic .
  6. Yeah , let's see if this goes to 10 -15 pages of BS ........... It's the OP's opinion and all I would add is make sure of correct spelling and punctuation .
  7. Holy Sha-zit ! Prince Andy's right hand man . Try this Early : http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Ready-aim-point-talk-5116592.php
  8. That's right . And chambering a round in a shotgun is LOUD !
  9. It's forecasted to be about 2 degrees tomorrow with a Real Feel Temp of -27 degrees . Cold and windy . Be careful if you are outdoors !

    Welcome to Hunting NY
  11. Man shoots himself in hand Justin Murphy and David Andreatta Staff writers He had a permit. That was what a patron at a Mendon restaurant recalled a customer repeatedly saying after he accidentally shot himself in the hand while showing his gun to a friend during the lunch hour on Saturday. John Cassata, 70, was sitting inside the Cottage H otel on Pittsford Mendon Road with a friend, Charles Raab, 67, around 1 p.m. when the gun went off, according to the Monroe County Sheriff ’s Office. “Cassata decided to show his firearm to Raab when he accidentally discharged the gun,” Cpl. John Helfer said. “The round went through Cassata’s hand, struck his leg then grazed Raab‘s ankle.” Helfer said both men were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. No charges have been filed, but Helfer said the matter was still under investigation. Witnesses said the s hot went off with a baby nearby and shattered an otherwise peaceful lunch. “All of a sudden we heard this explosion,” said Ellen Smith of Mendon. “I literally thought somebody had a firecracker. I didn’t think it was a gun, but then I heard someone say, ‘Oh my god, what did you do?’ And I turned around and saw all this smoke and it was just silence. Everyone was stunned. This guy shot himself.” Smith called 911. “This guy was so gray. He was bleeding pretty heavily,” Smith said. “He kept saying, I’ve got a permit, I’ve got a permit.” [email protected] DANDREATTA@DemocratandChronicle .com
  12. A recent article in the Kentucky Post, reported that a woman, one Anne Maynard, has sued St. Luke's hospital, saying that after her husband had surgery there, he lost all interest in sex. A hospital spokesman replied ... "Mr. Maynard was admitted in Ophthalmology – all we did, was correct his eyesight."
  13. I had the cable that goes from the Frame to the Platform break one year . I bought some chain to replace the cables with .... It was a bit scarey when the cable snapped !
  14. I leave the stands out year round but loosen most of the ratchet straps and replace them every couple of years . They are inexpensive . With hang ons , I change the straps each year . Harbor Freight and Tractor Supply have the straps on sale several times a year . I plan to do some scouting this winter to check the deer travel and find a few different spots to move stands to ...... I realize the deer will travel different routes in warmer weather when food is more plentiful but I have a couple thick areas that are stand possibilities .
  15. My ladder stands are all black . What's to paint ? The foot rest sounds like a great idea . I have short legs and the stand gets uncomfortable after a while . After driving 50 miles one way , I tend to stay from dark until dark . Going to try to do more Hub Blind sitting in 2014 .
  16. It looks like you have something that works . Why fix it ?
  17. I have been hearing that all over the place . Sometimes they show that damn commercial 2 - 3 times on a program . If he was on the roof of my car , I would peel out and dump his butt !
  18. Growie --- I am in the same boat as you . I have 2 cameras left out and they are in Geneseo . I don't plan to go there anytime soon . I bet the batteries are dead . As for Doc's question , I don't have an answer . I have not had them out this late or in this weather .
  19. Nice shooting but you missed the dime .......
  20. Congrats on a job well done .
  21. We have about 12 - 14 inches of the light fluffy stuff here . We are 2 miles south of Lake Ontario . Bought a new snow blower today ( 28" cut ) .
  22. Yeah , that video has been around for a while . I think the deer grunted "3 strikes and you're out" ! Uhhhhh , was that Jackie Bushwhacker doing the shooting ?
  23. Happy Birthday Doc ! Hope you have a Great Day . Enjoy the beautiful weather .....
