Dilemma ---- We have about 20 people coming for dinner tomorrow . A lot of stuff to get ready for a big Thanksgiving dinner . I feel guilty when going hunting and leaving the wife holding the bag but I would expect there would be many hunters out there pushing the deer and it should be a good day to be out there . We aren't going to eat until about 4 pm but folks will be showing up around 1 pm . Well I still have a few hours to make up my mind . Saturday should be another good day to be out out there . Trying to be pro active and going to Lowes to buy another 7 cu ft freezer . I would have purchased a 14 cu ft but it wouldn't fit through the doorway and I am not about to tear the doorway apart to make it fit . .

Grow -- We got the heavy wet crap here in Ontario . I used the snow blower and went slow . Got the top stuff but underneath it was slush and had to shovel that stuff . It was a good workout for this old guy and I worked up a pretty good sweat . Looks like those trees in you pic age growing sideways !

I went to Customer Service at the Home Depot in Victor when I was down there today . Their Customer Service told me my card was no good there either . I asked how I could be a Military Veteran in Wayne County but not there . She said it doesn't say anything on my card abould a military affiliation and I said it says right here , US Marines . WTF . Home Depot can kiss my ass ! On the other hand , Lowes has no problem with the card . As for Walmart . I love the store but I agree the one on Hudson Ave sucks . Almost no hunting stuff and the checkouts are slow . The Geneseo Wal-Mart is real good . The Harbor Freight in Irondequoit is much better than the Henrietta as far as I am concerned . I have a crapload of 25' tape measures .

The ones I catch are advertising some crap that has nothing to do with hunting . It's people looking to advertise .......

Sat in my blind in Walworth for 3 hours this afternoon . Didn't see anything . My SIL had to call and tell me that she heard quite a bit of shooting on Lima Road in Geneseo this afternoon . Spoiled my rotten day !

What about the folks that get in the left lane and drive the legal speed limit and won't get over . Get the hell out of the way ! Saturday night on Rt 104 heading West I had a guy pull out in front of me with no signal pass 2 cars , pull back in and flip me the bird as I went by . What was that all about ? And the yahoos that that are supposed to merge but want you to brake or move over into traffic when the nearest car behind you is 1/4 mile away . What don't people understand about YIELD ?

I have seen them along Rt 104 and on 390 .......

And what about standing in a checkout line when you are in a hurry and some old fart ( older than me ) is holding up the line digging in her purse saying " I know I have a penny in here somewhere " . I slap a quarter on the counter and say take it from this and the old fart feels insulted .

We need a "Whine Forum" --- a place to complain about the little stuff in life . Here is my Whine for the day . I am really ticked off at the Home Depot in Irondequoit . I bought some articles from there Saturday on the way home from hunting . I showed the clerk my "Wayne County Veteran's Discount Card" that is good at Lowes and a couple of other Home Depots . The clerk said it wasn't good in their store . I said it was honored in a couple of other Home Depots and she said "not here" . She called another clerk over and she said the same thing . I said that I would be shopping at Lowes from now on . She said "whatever" and scampered off . I called the Irondequoit Home Depot and asked to speak to a Manager . I was told the same thing by him that my card would not be honored in their store . I asked him how could I be considered a Military Veteran in other stores except theirs and he gave me some spiel as to why it wouldn't be honored . Bye Bye Home Depot . ----- Proud to have served in the US Marines !

I tried Power Belts and although they group well , they suck for taking deer down . I went to the TC 240 gr sabots using 90 grain of 777 and that worked like a charm !

Another exciting day in the great outdoors . Got to my blind at 6:30 . Kept everything closed up . Legal time was 7:12 . Heard the 1st few shots at 6:50 . Got out of the blind at 10:30 after seeing absolutely nothing even though I had heard several shots in various directions . Walked down to the field with the thick stuff . Swapped cards in a trail cam . Replaced a Posted Sign that someone moved . Worked my way through the thick crap and found a spot with potential for a Bow Stand for next season . Needs a bit of clearing for shooting lanes . Got into the woods --- real wet as the land doesn't drain . Checked out my old permanent stand and the ladder rungs need to be replaced to be safe . Grabbed an old lawn chair and headed back . My arm was bothering me so I slung the shotgun over my shoulder When I got up near the old pond I heard a noise . One doe hauled butt up the lane way and another crashed through the pond . No shot . Sat in a stand near the pond for an hour and saw nothing . Well , back to the blind . Stayed there until 3:30 . During that time I saw a doe come across the field and hung around for about 15 minutes 300 yards away . After she was out of sight a small buck did the same thing . Heard more shooting and saw a buck and 2 doe running down the middle of an adjacent field . Later I saw 1 more doe travel across the field I was in . The shooters had the deer moving today . 9 hours in the great outdoors and I had finally had enough ...... Did I forget to say it was cold and windy with some snow flurries .......... Caught a couple of white-outs on the way home .

Heading out for Geneseo in a few minutes . Don't know how long I will last in this cold weather . Looked at the temps vs Real Feel temps . Ughhhhhhh ! Fairly strong Westerly wind . Makes me cold to think about it . Hope ther will be some hunters out there moving the deer . Looks like the same type of weather for the next few days ........ cold and windy . Where the hell is that Global Warming ?

You don't want to do that . When a rifle is fired , the barrel vibrates ( barrel harmonics ) . Resting the barrel rather than the forearm will affect the shot ..........
