  1. As far as I know , they use the data that is submitted . Why the heck would someone want to lie about the numbers ?
  2. Belo , they send the sighting logs to us Elite hunters to fill out . This is the 15th year they have been doing this . Last year state-wide , there were 3527 participants that hunted 179,372 hours .
  3. I have been participating for about 13 years . They sent me a couple of patches in the past few years .
  4. I have had one for a few years . They are really handy and easily adjustable . I store it in an old Bino case . They don't take up much room and would be a handy item at camp . Another useful item is a string splitter for installing peeps .
  5. I would check with the property owner ( unless that's you ) to see if he had the stands taken down . I would also look on Craig's List to see if they are being sold by some local . People do steal stuff and then try to sell it there .
  6. Welcome to Hunting NY
  7. Wooly --- I take it that you tried it all ready !
  8. I am also retired but I generally work Tuesdays and sometimes Thursdays . I won't be working Tuesday October 1st though .
  9. I wonder if he caught hell from his boss for being so cool .............
  10. Nice ! A couple of show offs sparring for the camera . Neat !
  11. I keep my clothes in a plastic tote with a Fresh Earth wafer ......
  12. I was fine with the video until I saw the bait pile ...... I hope it wasn't in New York State .
  13. There is no way I can see to lock a ground blind . I lost one that I had staked to the ground and somewhat tied . When I went to get it some time after the season ended , it was gone but that was my fault . I had left it too long waiting for some decent weather and the high winds ripped it away . Like Papist said , blend it in to the surroundings . Put some cuttings around it .
  14. I had been pretty much for let the little ones walk and because of that have eaten several tags . I turned 72 earlier this month and I don't think I am going to be too selective anymore in my old age . I still don't think I could draw on a spike though .........
  15. When they start walking around the woods on 2 legs is when I will start worrying . Neat pics ....
  16. I had an old 3-D deer set at 30 yards , a new one at 20 yards and a block target at 10 yards . I have a slider one pin sight on my bow . I am well aware that if I don't bend at the waist , my arrows will be high soooooo , I bent at the waist at the 20 yard 3-D but didn't at the 30 yard 3-D . I was getting the same grouping . I know it's not the right way to do it but it eliminates moving the pin and it works . Hmmmmmmmm !
