An IR camera doesn't flash but you see the red light from the camera when the motion detector is tripped . If you knew someone who had an old junk camera they didn't want you could put that in a visible spot and put an IR camera up high whereby a ladder would be needed to reach it and then check the area each day to see if they are still there .

What was funny in the video was "the ropes" to support the stand against the tree so the rachet strap could be installed . Ropes , my butt ! They didn't look much bigger than the string for a chalk line !.....

I gave Orvisman the name , address and phone number of a farmer in walworth and never heard whether or not he followed through . It would be a short drive from Fairport to the Walworth property .

I have one of those collapsible ladders and they suck . I felt it was too dangerous to climb up on a tree with it The very top is a rung and it slides on the trees . I left it at my son's cabin so he could get into his loft . Oh yeah , it's heavy !

It gets to the point where a hunter wouldn't be safe inside a tank with some of these a-holes that are out there .

$330 ---- You gotta be kidding ! I have purchased 15' ladder stands and put them up by myself and I am 70 years old . It took 3 guys to do this in the video . For that amount of money I could buy at least 6 ladder stands from Dicks .

A few years ago I was sent a wind detector from the NAHC for a Test review . It was a Sewing Machine Bobbin with a length of Blaze Orange thread . You tied a piece of the string on your bow or tree bracch to tell the wind direction . I thought , who the heck would buy this when they could just purchase a spool of cheap thread at the store .

Plus the hunter in the above video didn't act like an Idiot after the shot . BIG DIFFERENCE is right ........

Congrats on the deer !

My youngest son put some Code Blue scent out in front of his stand 3 years ago along with using a scent drag rag . He shot the buck that was sniffing the scent wick . Hmmmmmmmmmm ! He has since been successful using scents .

I fill out the tag , put it in my pocket and when ready to load the deer cut a slit in its ear and fasten the tag with a small ty-wrap . I then tuck the tag in the ear so it doesn't flap in the breeze when driving home . It would be a rarity to see a tag in pics of folks with a deer kill .

Met my oldest son at the property he got access to at 2:45 this afternoon . He put on out hunting gear and headed for the stands . He pointed out the stand that I would be using about 150 yards across the field . As we approached the spot where we would separate , a spike stepped from the high grass field into the access road and hauled butt when he saw us . Sat in the stand from 3 - 6:30 pm . Didn't see another deer . 4 different guys went to different stands around 4:30 . and they left before we got down . Changed out of the hunting clothes and left . When I pulled out of the drive , I saw a doe across the road in a cut corn field eating . Up the road 1/2 mile a doe was standing right next to the road . A couple more miles I turned onto Thornell Road ( Pittsford ) and there was a very large doe standing next to the road . Apparently we shouldn't have been hunting the fields , we should have been hunting the roads ! J/K I was facing North and the cold wind was blowing in my face . Wearing the camo face net mask helped some but every time the wind picked up , I got the chills !
