Met my oldest son at the property he got access to at 2:45 this afternoon . He put on out hunting gear and headed for the stands . He pointed out the stand that I would be using about 150 yards across the field . As we approached the spot where we would separate , a spike stepped from the high grass field into the access road and hauled butt when he saw us . Sat in the stand from 3 - 6:30 pm . Didn't see another deer . 4 different guys went to different stands around 4:30 . and they left before we got down . Changed out of the hunting clothes and left . When I pulled out of the drive , I saw a doe across the road in a cut corn field eating . Up the road 1/2 mile a doe was standing right next to the road . A couple more miles I turned onto Thornell Road ( Pittsford ) and there was a very large doe standing next to the road . Apparently we shouldn't have been hunting the fields , we should have been hunting the roads ! J/K I was facing North and the cold wind was blowing in my face . Wearing the camo face net mask helped some but every time the wind picked up , I got the chills !

My Dad used to get called out at midnight , etc and have to drive on unplowed roads from Groveland to Geneseo to get to the sand / salt truck back in the 50's and 60's . He had to drive in dangerous conditions to get to the State Garage and get to the plow truck . No overtime , he got compensation by time off in the summer . Wow , big reward ! God Bless you for keeping the roads cleared !

I would have taken a Scent Free bath but the creek level was too low and the water was real cold ! Going to try a spot in Mendon with my oldest son this afternoon .

I will keep the original Breach plug in my NEF Huntsman . I like the Orange Carriers as I have some arthritis in my fingers and it makes it easier to handle loading the primers . I also like the fact that if I see an orange tab sticking out of the side , it may very well be live .

I hadn't done anything with my bowstring in a couple months . Waxed it good tonight and got a lot of crap out of the string as I have had it out in the woods several times . Take care of those bow string guys !

That buck from 10-26 looks like a 10 point and pretty hefty . Git 'r done , Zeb !

The good thing is , you get to use the anterless tag . Nice going !

The only Plow Trucks I hate are the ones that try to knock down the real Estate signs that we install . I think the plow boys make a game out of it . My Dad worked the the NYS DOT for years and retired . He passed away in 1979 . Anyway , welcome to Hunting NY !

I had never looked at my content until I looked at your post . Did you try going to your Profile , My Content and either clicking on close topics ? Why would you even bother trying to do anything with them ?

If you had a pass through gut shot , you might find him by the smell .

Congrats on getting the Yote and not leaving it in the woods . I had always been told that they will stink up an area and the deer will avoid that area .

I forgot to add that putting out any scent when I was hunting in Groveland was a waste of time . All I could smell was Liquid Manure in the air ! Phew !!!

I practice in the back yard and have a lot of time to think about proper bow form , etc .. I shoot from the ground and from a treestand in the back yard . When you are in a hunting mode things are rather instantaneous and sometimes we forget things when they happen so fast . Like it was said above , "bending at the waist" when shooting from a stand is of major importance . If you don't bend and instead , drop your bow arm , you are going to have a bad shot .

I have also seen that pic some time ago . Some of the pics float around for quite a while . It would be nice to know how that actually happened .

I have also seen does pee in a scrape .

I don't own and never have owned a motorcycle . The problem , as i see it , is a lot of folks pay no attention to them . Many of the accidents are caused by people not giving "right of way" to motorcycles and making U-turns in front of them .

I was heading for a stand at my SILs in Geneseo at 6:30 this am . I had just enough light so I could walk without using a light . When i got about 60 yards from the stand a deer jumped the fence from the pasture lot and hauled butt . I set my bow down by the stand and walked a ways down the lane to lay a scent trail with the drag . When I got 40' from the stand another doe ran by . I saw a couple more doe at 8:30 , then a fox and then nothing . At 11 , I got down and walked to the overgrown grassy field to check my ladder stand that I had the theft deterrant lock on . The top was detached so I fixed it . Luckily I had my keys this time . Eased my way through the brush and walked to the woods . I t wasn't swampy like it had been the past 3 years and the water level in the ditch was fairly low . Checked out my old pressure treated stand . It needs a minor repair . Had a sandwich and headed for Groveland . sat in a stand there from 3 - 6:15 pm and didn't see a thing . Removed my Stealth Cam Trail Cam . The light was blinking for battery change . It uses 6 "c" cells and they didn't last a month . Had 69 pics taken of nothing .

Was the sign paid for by the Taxpayers or ABATE ?

I stopped at the Town Clerk's office yesterday and picked up 2 of the extras ( 8F & 8H ) . Now all I have to do is fill them !
