    The repellant pad is in a sealed envelope . If you use the unit , say for a couple hours, and shut it off for the day , etc , pull the pad from the unit and put it in a small baggie for storage . The pads seem to last longer that way .

    Steele's in Avon make some awesome tasting venison products . They usually do up a variety of stuff for the Sportsman's Dinners .....

    Exactly ! Doesn't make sense ! Reminds me of a report on TV where a serviceman was home on leave and accidently shot his sister while cleaning a pistol . How the hell do you clean a loaded gun ? I hope the guy who was shot in the foot comes out okay .........

    That is such a neat idea to place a RUB in a location that would be advantageous to your stand . The only other fake rub I had seen was a garden claw to mark up a tree but this is so much better .

    Thanks guys . Maybe if I get bored , i'll take a trip with my youngest son and make a day out of it . Something to help with the winter blahs ....

    I was looking at the Instruction Booklet . Holy cow ! There are all sorts of pre-checks , etc . It shows how to repack the safety rope after testing or using the harness . Not as simple as I thought . Well , I have a few months to practice ! ???

    Got my blind and took it down just as it started to sprinkle . I setup one of my IR Stealth Cams near the entrance to the gulley and I am hoping for some activity . I will wait a month or so before checking it .

    If they are in a good spot and the deer have gotten used to their presence , it's a shame to move them . But ....... check them out before the season open to check the straps , sqeaks , stability , etc .

    I was watching a couple show on TWSC ( Time Warner Sports Channel ) and saw some advertisements for The Herb Philipson sports stores . There are a few in the Syracuse / Rome area . They also advertised Tims Guns NY in Elbridge , NY . Has anyone shopped at either of these places and if so are they worth the trip ?

    What bothered me was a couple of guys acting like dumb asses on video and posting it on a site like You Tube for everyone to see . I have never seen anyone toss a deer around like that and show so little respect for and animal they killed ( almost killed ) . Then again , I don't hunt in 3 whatever ! :

    Rhey work great . I was using them when I would sit out and shoot woodchucks . Bought several of them when Eckerts Drug Stores were closing them out . Gave away several of them to family and friends . All of mine are white .

    I've been leaving them out for a few years . I replace the rachet straps almost every year . Many of the stores have the straps on sale during the summer .

    When the dog gets bigger , it bring back the whole deer .

    Maybe you should watch it a 3rd time ! : The deer was still alive when the jerk pulled it out like a rag doll . Too bad the deer didn't kick him in the groin when he did that . I wonder how long that doe lived after the "humane" shot ????????? The video never should have been on You Tube ! Go to you tube , type in Ramidogg and you can see him take a bite out of a deer's heart after field dressing a deer . Same dumb ass cameraman .

    My wife left for Albany yesterday to see her cousin Bobby Duffy get sworn in as Lt Gouvenor . I hope he can do some good things for NYS .

    Well , i'll be heading for Geneseo in a few minutes . I want to take down my hunting blind and set a trail cam in the gulley to see what traffic there might be as I would like to put a treestand there this summer . I hope the creek isn't too high to cross .

    We aren't in California and I have never purchased ammo over the internet .........

    I don't plan on spending $600 on a hunting jacket . Not being able to handle the cold is my son's problem .......... The Webster store didn't have squat for Ladder or chain-on stands when I had stopped there . Their stand area was pretty bare .
