  1. NYDEER ---- Try putting some Armor All on a paper towel or soft rag and wipe it on the target arrows . It will make them easier to pull out . I bought an arrow puller that helps also .
  2. I havn't had any luck with the Fletch Tite Platinum so I have been using the Super Glue .
  3. I thought you were joking but I did a lookup and saw where someone is looking for one on Graigsliast in 9H ........ http://rochester.craigslist.org/wan/2057113280.html
  4. Going out today was a bust but I had to get it out of my syatem and my son wanted to get out . After it stopped raining , we were in the stands . There were some serious wind gusts and we got down after a couple hours of swaying in the breeze . We walked across the fiels and then walked through the thick stuff to see if we might spot deer but saw nothing . So much for bow hunting for the season . Gotta get ready for gun season now ..........
  5. I would rather be x-ray'd or patted down as well as everyone else rather than fly wondering if it's safe ..........What's the big deal ?
  6. I bought a box of the hand warmers at BJ's about 3 years ago and i'm getting a bit low . I have several of the bigger Body warmers that I will try out . The best time to buy them at BJ's is end of season when they reduce prices .
  7. That would make it too hot with pressure against the body , even if it was over a shirt . I have a couple of the hand muffs and one of them is kinda thin with a belt strap . I'll give that a try and see how it works out . Thanks !
  8. That's a beautiful buck DeerSlayer ! Nice job .......
  9. I'll be hunting my sister in laws property in Geneseo Saturday am . She said she would be in her stand also . Once I park , I only have a 1/4 mile walk to the stand that I will be using . I think I will take the ML instead of the shotgun . Curious to see how many gun hunters will be out and about .....
  10. Sometimes when little Fluffy or Foo-Foo gets attcaked or killed by a yote some antis turn their hats 180 degrees .....
  11. I looked them up and saw the kidney belt warmers for around $18 and then another $10 for shipping . That's a bit pricey . I recall a gun hunter who once said that he carried a pop bottle with coffee in it to his stand . He carried it in the back part of his shirt that was tucked in his trousers . He said it kept him warm and when the coffee cooled , he would drink it . He would then pee in the bottle and put it back in his shirt by his kidneys . Sounds a bit gross to me . I'd rather figure something out fof a kidney belt .
  12. Does anyone have / use one or have you seen any in a store ?
  13. My youngest son and I are going to hunt in Pittsford tomorrow afternoon . According to AccuWeather , the rain should be letting up by 1 pm . But ............ I heard on the news tonight that there may be wind gusts at 40 - 50 mph late tomorrow afternoon so we could end up cutting our hunting short .
  14. Yeah , I could see where that would be a serious problem if someone was totally out of shape .
  15. Thanks for posting the Harassment Law .......
  16. We use the metal ladder stands and have a few set up in South Bristol . I had a DogHouse Blind setup on the property in case of bad weather . The property owner wanted it down and wants us to hunt from treestands because he feels it's safer . Didn't want to lose the hunting spot so I took it down yesterday . I figured I would be all set with the blind in case it rained but not anymore . The blind has the blaze orange tabs on all 4 sides ......... This is the only time ever I have had someone tell me NOT to hunt from the ground on their property !
  17. Hadn't heard of that but I bought some Scorpion Venom String wax fro a small shop owner . I'll see if he has the spray .
  18. Armor-all (sp) ----- I noticed a squeaking noise when I would start to draw my bow . My arrow would squeak when being drawn across the foam rubber arrow holder on the bow shelf . I put some Armor All on a paper towel and rubbed it on the arrow holder , rubbed it on my arrows and gave a little shot of it in the mechanism of my release . Everything is fine now . Thinking I should spray scent eliminator on everything now .
  19. One thing you want to make sure of is have a minimal amount of slack in the strap that fastens to the tree . I try to put my strap high enough so I have enough slack so I can sit down with no tension on the strap . If you have too much slack you can drop several feet before the "sudden stop" and possibly snap your back or not be able to get back into the stand . http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/2cents.gif[/img]
  20. On Nov 3 , I saw a total of 18 anterless deer , 3 bucks, 2 turkeys and 2 racoons in 7.7 hours of sitting . In the last two outings , I have seen 1 buck in a total of 8.7 hours of sitting ! I don't hunt that area when it gets close to dark due to the terrain . You want to see a lot of doe ? Drive through Mendon Ponds Park as it starts to get dark . The doe are laying low and feeding at night . The doe are out there but they have gone into "stealth mode" !
  21. Hidehunter , welcome to Hunting NY . I take it you drive a Mac Truck ! http://www.downsouthhuntingforums.com/images/smiles/5243_rofl_1.gif[/img]
  22. Welcome to Hunting NY . Another 315'er !
