  1. If I had to guess how wide, I'd put him at 20-21", looks to be about 3" past the ears on either side.
  2. I'll be out there this weekend with my new Xbow and hoping to put one down. Picked up a Ten Point Titan extreme with accudraw and that thing is a real tack driver, deadly accurate and a blast to shoot. Good luck .
  3. I'm very excited, can't wait . Got my two best hunting buddies with me that are just as excited, my dad and uncle both in their mid 70's. doesn't get any better then that. For the first time I will be using my dads 40 plus year old 35 lever action using 150 grain spear point, shot it quite a bit to get use to it and I was breaking paper at 50 yards. I'll be heading up to camp tonight. Good luck and be safe.
  4. I have a nice elevated enclosed stand on that plot for the ole man, I'll have him take a doe. I definitely need to thin the doe herd, two weeks ago had 11 doe and young pour into that field within a two hour sit.
  5. Now that you say that , the deer do have a slight Italian accent that's similar to my uncle and dads...lol.
  6. Thanks, definitely a labor of love and the rewards aren't bad either... Lots of yummy backstraps
  7. Oh don't mind the date and time stamp, that got all messed up when I changed the batteries out. Pictures are very recent from Mid October.
  8. My Broccoli Rabe and Ladino clover plot is getting hammered, deer are keeping the Broccoli Rabe mowed and the clover is coming in real nice and thick underneath. Going to leave this section as clover for next few years and turn the ground next to it for the following fall to plant my Broccoli Rabe/Rape mix.
  9. That is great, the memories will last a lifetime.
  10. I had looked into buckwheat however never had the chance to get a plot of it in, its an great attractant for game and is excellent as a green manure crop. Plant it in the spring and then plow it under come fall, then you can put in a brassica/clover or wheat for a fall/winter plot.
  11. Sorry for your loss Aaron, you and your buddy will be in my prayers. Thanks for your dedication and commitment in keeping this country safe.
  12. She does look a little on the thin side, if your concerned should contact local DEC office.
  13. Nice does guys and phade that buck is a hog...nice going everyone...
  14. Congrats on your first, sweet shot.
  15. Best of luck with new property, great area to be in.
  16. They are all in my food plots and working my mock scrape ...lol.. never a lack of deer by me always been seeing them in fields and on my cams. First time this year I even got pictures of a bruiser bear....all in 4F. I have tons of pictures of does, fawns and young bucks...but not any big boys, I don't get worked up about not seeing big bucks as I try to keep the does happy and the bucks will eventually show....hopefully.
  17. Got mine two years ago, super sportsman. WAs an early Christmas gift from my parents. I really didn't want them to spend all that money, but my dad insisted. I gave a little fight, but they won....lol
  18. Hey greenecounty tell me what these 2 guys are doing? Same mock scrape from last year. Come on guess, your insight to my first two pictures was hilarious, want to know if you can get this one right.
  19. Not sure what your looking at buddy, but sure hope your joking. Buck is smelling my piss and leaving some of his scent on the over hanging branch.
  20. Tyman, yes works real well. Almost too good that it makes you wonder, but aren't we animals as well, why wouldn't our pee work to peak another animals Curiosity. And it's not just the little ones, it's mature bucks, does, that will use these mock scrapes as well as other critters.
  21. Just take a look at my mock scrapes from last year and this year, the proof is in the pudding. All made with the assistance of human pee and from time to time doe in estrous. So I say let it rip. I do however pee in a bottle when on stand so I can later dump in my mock scrape. The only bad side effect to peeing right off your stand is that deer might pinpoint your stand location and maybe more prone to picking up any slight movement.
  22. Well I usually set up my mock scrape beginning of October, however wanted to put one out early and see what happens. Right off the bat got a young buck (attached picture), and few does sniffing about. This is the same scrape I open year after year and works like a charm. I know theres a thread floating around about relieving yourself while on stand or peeing in a bottle, well my scrapes are almost exclusively created by using human pee and my stand is very close by. Matter of fact I pee into a bottle while on stand and at the end of my sit Ill take the entire bottle of pee and dump that into the scrape to keep it fresh, I also use does in estrous as well.I cant take all the credit because two of my little boys were contributors of the yellow stuff as well...lol...
  23. Anyone know if we got any good rain in otsego/ deleware counties?
