  1. Looks to be Horse flies, they love to bite. Ticks would be under the fur, not on top of the fur.
  2. Geno, Is that out on the Island or Upstate?
  3. In 4F we have seen tons of Grouse....they are constantly scaring the crap out of me when I walk to my stands in the dark..Dont feel to bad a 2 hour hike is a hop skip and a jump compared to my 3 1/2 hr. drive to get to my camnp in 4F.....The things we do for hunting....lol...Take advantage of the grouse population they are definately on an upward swing, think it has to do with alot of timber harvesting....which is opening up some prime grouse habitat.
  4. Those are some nice bucks indeed, G-man get a picture with them on the ground....Best of luck..
  5. Congrats on that doe, good eats right there.
  6. Apple trees seem to be the ticket by me, the deer are eating them up.....You cant be more right all it takes is 5 seconds to change your whole season around.
  7. Shender, Funny you say you harvested a pheasant....in all the years I have been in 4F I have never seen a pheasant, that is until this past weekend I saw a male on Route 23....Are they being released by someone, my father said he has never seen pheasant as well in this area...
  8. Too bad on that 8 pointer, maybe next time. We are neighbors, I'm about 20 minutes from you. I'm located in the town of Harpersfield. I'm always in Oneonta picking up something at either TSC, Lowes or Walmart....Oneonta is great place to get away and kill a couple hours...
  9. Yes same here Culver, I say that I will setup a cam on video but I never do....I may need to set to video if I get some good fight pictures next time I check.
  10. I have always caught pictures of multiple bucks on camera at same time, however this is the first time I caught them fighting.
  11. Could be highly possible, but I have not seen them traveling together. I think they met up in the food plot for a fight...lol..
  12. Very nice, that one side is very impressive.
  13. Taken in Otsego County, was aged at 4 1/2.
  14. Two young bucks going at it, just so happens that I had the spike within 20 yards on opening weekend and the three pointer was 5 yards away from my stand just yesterday, opted to pass on both....hopefully they will bloom into some future bruisers.. Enjoy.
  15. Congrats way to go, nice buck.
  16. Welcome to this great forum. Is that a blacktail buck?
  17. I shoot a matthews switchback XT and love it, matthews in my opinion are top quality bows, their technology and inovations are always in the forefront. One could not go wrong with buying one, on the flipside they are pricey. Like everyone has mentioned and like I did when I was in the market is to try different bows and go with what feels best for YOU.
  18. Heres a picture of a coyote I took years back in NY ( have taken others and fox but did not get them mounted), here is also a bear I took in New Brunswick Canada. Just a side note the deer mounts on either side of the coyote are my fathers and have stood the test of time, the doe was mounted in 1965 and the buck 1970. Attached also are mounts of some mature bucks I have taken through the years. Enjoy.
