  4. So sorry for your loss, I know what your family is going through, give my regards. You and your family will be in my prayers.
  5. Yes was a young bear, if I had to guess maybe 2-3 year old about 150 lbs, sad.
  6. the bear was hit by a car.....on my way home from camp today a woman had hit a bear along route 28 not from from Kingston, NY....As we pulled along side of the bear we noticed that the poor thing was still breathing and bleeding from its mouth. I'm more then sure DEC or troopers will have to put it down, must have had internal injuries....Sad having to watch it there suffering like that, bad way to go.
  7. my trail cams, two bucks together feeding in plot and lone buck pic taken on mountain top, enjoy.
  8. Last year was a banner year for apples, my trees were loaded. This year the fruit yield is very minimal.
  9. Yep I think hes an older bear. I wont necessarily be hunting for him, but if he happens to pass by it would be hard to pass on such a trophy.
  10. Not a high bear density area and these are the first pictures I have ever captured of a bear on my peoperty, but boy my first bear pictures and he seems to be a dandy. This guy came to within 10 yards of my tower blind on 2 occasions. Tell me what you guys think how big he is?
  11. Sorry for your loss, my prayers go out to you and your family.
  12. I'm in region 4 as well I have two existing ladino clover plots that I frost seeded a couple weeks ago, come late summer I' will be putting in a brassica plot of purple top turnips & broccoli rabe.
  13. If its a tractor attachment or a pull behind five foot tiller it would work good, unless you have rocks to contend with. If you don't have the right equip., like someone said may be best just to get a local farmer.
  14. I have six stands (ladders, tower, tripod) all from sportsman guide. Twice I had an issue with once a cross support bar missing and another where bolts were missing. In both cases I think it might have been the carriers fault because there were tears in the boxes. In both cases I called sportsmanship guide and no questions asked they sent me replacements. Excellent customer service, you should have no problems getting replacements from them.
  15. Yep don't go there skillet, some people find it hard just to say a simple congrats. As long as you and her had fun that's all that matters.
  16. Tell the mrs. Congrats, very nice ram.
  17. I occasionally get a coyote or fox , what is the preferred method of ( holding, skinning etc) prior to sale to a fur buyer? Will skinning, salting and freezing of the pelt suffice?
  18. Also good time to frost seed those thinning perennial plots. Going up this weekend to prune some apple trees and frost seed my clover plots.
  19. The first I do when we get back to camp after harvesting a deer is cook the liver up with onions, wine and vinegar...yummy, Us italians eat anything thats not tied down....lol..I have not heard of anybody here mention eating the brain, I have eaten it and its not bad, but my father loves it.
  20. I dont reload, however I know a gunsmith that uses unscented cat litter in his tumbler instead of buying media. Like I said I dont reload, but just thought I'd throw that out there.
