Daytime pic was from end of July. The night pics are August 30th. Bucks on the property, at least the big ones are rarely on cam in season during the day.

Planned to try and bag one early and still make it to the office by 8. Knew I had to be heading out of the woods around 7 in order for that to happen. Got set up by 5:15 (sky was turning light before 5AM) and heard gobbles from across field not long after. After a few mouth/slate calls I see his Red head crest the hill just across the field I'm watching. He spots my single hen decoy and goes full strut. Is working back and forth and makes it across field to about 60. Nothing I was doing was getting him to come in range. I knew it was very close to 7 but I didn't want to leave with him right on me fearing spooking him might not let me get another chance. I almost hoped he would see me just so I could relieve my sore butt and go to work. He got to a spot I could get a shot I thought was between 40-50yds, I put the Dot on him and boom he dropped right there. Awesome Hunt, I was jacked up. He had a 9in Beard and 1 in Spurs. Crappy pics but I was in a rush and solo.

I'd say 4. He's further ahead than all the other deer in the photo when it comes to shedding summer coat. Not sure if that has anything to do with age but he looks to be a mature deer, Good body.

2 weeks from first pics of him. Looks like his main beam are a little longer/closer to touching a tips compared to pics from 7/31. Also got this funky little guy...guessing some sort of injury is the cause.

I like the sounds of that!

I like to let bucks get to the ripe age of 4 years old but we all know how hard that is unless you own a serious piece of land. This property is 25 acres surrounded by hardwoods and farm fields...along with many other hunters. Chances are slim bucks like this make it through any year around hunting pressure. Anyway I am curious to hear what others think the age of this buck is and what it might score out of velvet? I am thinking 3.5 years old 125-130 inches.

Just went a few weeks back on the "The Fishin Magician" out of Sodus. Capt. Ryan was a good dude and the boat was real nice.

Josh, I have caught trout in the Outlet in Phelps, this was several years ago and I wasn't fishing for Trout just happen to catch 2 small ones. I think your best bet is to hit Irondequoit Creek (spots in Penfield and Powder Mill Park). Within 30 minutes of Newark. Good Luck.

I got a better picture - Please Age and Score Him?
QB1 replied to DaSwampBuk's topic in Trail Camera Pictures
Nice bases, I would guess he is 3.5/4...130 class deer. I try and practice QDM and take mature Deer and I think everyone in the group would have him on our hit list. Good Luck. -
Here he is in velvet with another nice 8.

Age/Score? I'm guessing 3/4 yrs old, 120ish.

Without being too far fetched I would love a piece of property that is 100+ acres, has a log cabin, nothing fancy but has running water and electric. Bass pond near cabin, and property has a trout stream or river. Property is a mix of hardwoods and some open fields for food plots. I would love for it to be in NY within 30 minutes of Rochester. That's my paradise.

Last Sunday the Mrs. And I switched cars I was traveling for work so I kept hers at the airport and she used mine and had the winter tires put on while I was gone. The night before I left I moved the hunting gear I keep in my trunk into her Rav 4, scent free bags full of clothes, bow in the case, otter etc. I needed to make room to put the tires in for her. Rather then bring my hunting stuff inside I left it in the car as usually. Next morning I head to the airport early and in a hurry and notice some cd's, paperwork etc on the passenger side floor it looked the the car was rummaged thru but everything was closed up so I really paid no attention and knew all my stuff was still in the back. I get back Thursday night and Friday AM the wife and I switch cars back but I still had a set if tires in mine and I left the hunting gear in hers to switch after work. She now notices her gps and 20 dollars are missing which is then I realize the car was broken into I must have left it unlocked. She never uses the gps and oh well and the 20 dollars could be worst considering my bow and hunting clothes are still there. After work I go to get my hunting stuff out of her car and realize my bow is not in the case! It was stolen! Call renter insurance and the cops file a report and claim and I'm miserable! My brother recommended checking craigslist and wouldn't you know it there is a listing from oct 10th with a pic of my bow from a pawn shop around tr corner. Pawn owner was nice enough to give me the bow back Friday night without much hassle. Had an awesome sit Saturday AM and was able to close the deal on a doe. All this after thinking my entire season was lost. Lesson we'll learned!

Had a doe come from the corn field behind me down wind, not sure if she winded me but only stopped for a second before quickly moving across the field, she was at 25 yds but I didn't even get the chance to grab my bow before she was out of range. Had a young 8 pt show up around 640PM prob about 100 inches, he was out of range (70yds) and not a shooter for this property. I did come to full draw on a doe at 40yds around 7:00. She knew something wasn't right, she was a good distance away, and there was less then ideal shooting light so I ended up passing. Was hot and the mosquitoes started to swarm around 645. Overall it was a great first sit. We will see if luck changes this afternoon!

Its my cam but I haven't been the one pulling the card. The topic of staying out of the woods was discussed internally with the 3 other guys I hunt with several weeks ago. One of the guys in our group pretty much runs the show, its his in laws land and him and his wife just moved in to the in laws which is right on the 300 acres we hunt. He says there are horses being rode through the land, dogs being walked, fields being plowed so deer are used to human scent. I still think regardless we should be careful how often we enter the woods. Its a no win argument for me, he's gonna do what he wants. Now I could tell him not to pull my cards but then again if he's going in anyway I'm not going to argue...plus I think if I told him not to he would anyway. He likes to do things his own way and I like to hunt this property so I don't complain all that much. There are all sorts of topics I could rant about which I am sure anyone who is in a "hunt club" can understand. I try and just go with the flow and not cause any waves. We had built in stand on a tree that gives about a 35-40 yds shot to the pear tree. One of my ladders was moved this weekend to a closer tree to offer a better shot, I was late to the property, wasn't asked if my stand could be moved but I really didn't care I think I sat in the previous location once all of last year, again not making a big deal just go with the flow. I will give you one guess to who is sitting in that stand opening day (Clue, its not me)

He has been consistent with his visits....

Pic of the deer going up to get the fruit is pretty cool.
